I would like to know if you can solo in Dark Citadel? Also you should able to solo everything in Diablo IV.
Nope you can’t even enter the citadel unless your in a party.
Forced group content is here , hence why the forums are flooding with complaints asking blizz to back track and allow solo player accessibility
Welcome to WoW light
We don’t actually know that to be true. What we know is it needs a party of 2 but we also know that you can have mercs in your party so the question is will that count? Which would make it technically soloable
Did you read the blog, the answer is NO! You need to be with at least ONE other person.
No because there are triggers to open doors that rely on two players needing to stand on them. It was made very clear you can’t solo this content. There trying to make this wow light
It’s a complete joke and needs to be addressed
I’m just hoping the mercs can actually do those things. But we’ll see.
The merc’s do not count as other players.
“groups of players.”
“minimum of two players.”
Confirmed Merc don’t count and blizz has dropped the ball here. Nobody asked for or wanted group content , we wanted more content solo, armory and pit leaderboards This needs to be soloable
Come release it it’s still group only. Watch this content die like the Gauntlet did cause of its Garbo reward system
Gauntlet would work if you got a uber materials cache at end and maybe a stygian .
Watch Blizz in true fashion ignore players again and huge L their expansion
Where does it say that? It’s probably the case but I still want to hear someone actually confirm it and assume language in a blog post that was aimed at people who want to group with other people as confirmation.
Color me shocked. Game is done.
When I saw the one player stand in one spot so the other could move past the barricade, I thought, teleport/metamorphosis will probably work.
Can you confirm it? Source?
It`s literally written in the latest news post “Delve deeper into Nahantu”
“The Dark Citadel becomes available once you reach the endgame. You’ll receive an introductory Quest to begin your journey, which only needs to be completed once on your Account.” … “Mastering this challenge requires a minimum of two players, but it’s recommended to raise arms with a party of four for the best chance at emerging triumphant. The ideal way to approach this mighty challenge is to search far and wide for like-minded players…”
Did you miss the live interview with Rod and the two developers. They said at least two PLAYERS that need to COMMUNACATE. Not sure how many more times they need to say it. YouTube is your friend.
Just the once. I can say I ate an orange today. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t also eat a banana. I want to hear them say specifically “no, mercs won’t let you do the citadel solo” that I have not heard them say. So on the slim chance it’s actually possible it would be nice to rule it out.
Right now: No. Minimum 2 players.
(and it has to be “someone you trust”)
So… I know how this will end…

Communicate. Oh great. Not only do you have to group but you are now going to have to join Discord Voice Chat and create a Discord account instead of just chilling. Typing is tedious. Go take a look at Lost Ark. Communicating is the worst thing about playing Legion Raids.
Hey, I am 12 o clock! What are you doing? Did you take 2 orbs moron!?
If you watch the video again, there’s a region Player_A must stand on which opens a gate for Player_B. Player_B walks through their gate and stands on a region which opens the gate for Player_A. How are you going to get your mercenary to stand on the region?
From the Xbox channel, it’s time coded to the Dark Citadel https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2230039746?t=1h1m14s

I made a post on the forums with concerns about the co-op endgame activity when it was first announced a few months ago, … and that the reason I never played D:I wasnt the MTX, but rather the forced grouping. Someone pointed out in the replies that the developers changed that and everything can be soloed now… so I re-installed D:I, and, I have to admit, it’s actually quite fun. I’ve played through 3 seasons/Battle Passes now, and just made it to Inferno I as a FTP solo player, and I’m pleased to say that yes, everything I have encountered so far is indeed soloable (with the exception of one activity, Oblivion Towers I think… but the same rewards from those events can be obtained from the soloable Hellslayer bounties).
try watching the video of day 2 of gamescom then when they specifically said you needed to be in a group of 2-4 people to do it.
