I’ve been running a frost build and I’m wondering if anyone knows if any enemy that is chilled also counts as being slowed, for the purpose of affixes that + damage to slowed enemies. Anyone know? Thanks
Not sure, wondering this as well.
I’ve also been wondering this… Google hasn’t provided a clear answer yet that I could find
Hi, Same question with freezed = immobilized ?
I’ve also wondered if freeze = stunned too

Following. Need confirmation on this either way.
The only thing that has been confirmed is that frozen also is considered chilled.
I’m 99% sure that freeze is not stun or immobilized. I can tell that aspect of control is only working on just the frozen part because the damage would be noticeable if I was getting all three multipliers. I’m underleveled in WT4 so stuff doesn’t auto-die when frozen so this tells me that frozen mobs aren’t considered stunned or immobilized.
And it’s very likely that chilled is not considered slow. It would be a little OP if chilled/frozen double dipped into other conditions.
I also wish I knew, I dont know how to enchant a new weapon with damage to slowed
If chill = to frozen, than why are there two different buffs like: Damage to Chill Enemies and Damage to Frozen enemies??
Makes it seem like the Frozen affixes are the poor mans chilled rolls then.
Because some abilities freeze enemies without needing to chill them
No. Chill and Slow are 2 different tags.
I’m not sure, only my hypothesis, but I would consider “wording” to see what works or not, except for freezed = chilled because it is a specific mechanic that chill build freeze.
I “think” that chilled is slow movements and slow attack, wile slowed is only sole moviment, so they are considered 2 different status.
But again my hipothesis
Rhykker talks about this is his video “Diablo 4: All Mechanics Terms Explained - Everything You Need to Know”. It’s arranged alphabetically. Watch the Chilled, Frozen, and Slow segments. There are timestamps for the segments if you expand the ‘Show more’ section under the video.
I think he said chilled may not mean slow, but he wasn’t totally sure yet.
Yeah I have seen this and still I’m not putting 100% trust in it because the damage bucket theory mentioned in it is not accurate.
I guess it would make sense to prioritize chill over frozen then, since Frozen can be considered Chill, but Chill can’t be considered Frozen.
Depends on how often you Freeze. An item with both +Damage to Freeze and +Damage to Chill would have a fairly substantial payoff when you are damaging a target which is frozen.
I’m fairly certain ‘Damage to Slowed’ does not effect Chilled enemies. I have both Slow and Chill on Rogue, separate effects, separate modifiers. What doesn’t make sense to me is that uptime on these modifiers isn’t taken into account, i.e. Damage to Frozen should be a way bigger number than Damage to Chilled. You can have very high uptime on Chill, but things like Stun and Frozen are small windows, yet don’t have bigger multipliers in gear stats, i.e. they’re not as useful
Do you have a more accurate source for us?
