D4 Xbox Game Pass PC and VoH battle-net combo mystery

I have a valid Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, and I play only on PC, do not have any other console.
I am able to play D4 on PC just fine via xbox-battle-net account link.

I purchased the VoH pre-order four days before release date.
However, VoH was not registered in the game neither I got the pre-order bonuses.
I felt something is wrong and contacted both blizzard support and Xbox support. After mixed responses, the conclusion was that I will be able to play and get bonuses at release date.
At release date and successful game update the game was playable without expansion content, also no pre-order bonuses.
So, I contacted blizzard support again and after a lot of unrelated responses they directed me to Xbox support since the expansion was bought from there.
After some hassle to reach out Xbox support I finally got through and begun to chat with a tech assistant.
After researching they said that the expansion I bought was for Xbox console only. Why didn’t they tell four days ago when I had the chance to cancel and buy somewhere else.
To remind again i only have one pc, don’t have any other console, this is not a multi-platform/location license issue. it is ridiculous to say that expansion/dlc is for console only while the base game is definitely playable, upgradeable and applicable on pc.
If game/code platform requirements are met it is just a checkmark in a database if the account has expansion or not. Afterall they are able to that for the cosmetics.
In the end Xbox support was kind enough to proceed with a refund request for me, will see how that goes.
I still want to be able to play the expansion, so I must buy it by other means.

My question is, is there anyone who plays the base game only on PC with Xbox Game Pass Subscription and bought the expansion from battle-net and can confirm that the expansion is playable in this way ?

I need a conformation before going ahead and buying since I already went into a lot of trouble, lost eligibility for pre-order bonuses and lost discount for Xbox subscribers.
