The game is back to having no soul nor identity. There’s almost nothing that was learned from previous seasons as S6 is possibly the quickest to get boring ever.
It seems to me people are still hooked to the idea “oh I spent X amount of money, so I simply have fight anyone that says the game is underwhelming”. But the game is meh at best, clearly a step backwards in terms of a coherent game.
Yes this is obviously due Blizzard being 100% focused on selling as much as they can, so there’s a lot of planned incoveniences for those that don’t buy the expansion. But even despite that the game has more glitches and bugs that it had at launch. It simply regressed.
I might return for season 7, but now it really depends on how down to earth Blizzard will be in their upcoming campfire chats. Recently things certainly haven’t looked good because they are quite cautious and don’t want to say anything bad about the game and thus impact sales during this critical window.
D4 looking bad again and there isn’t anything bright in the future to come

Its what happens when you spend so many resources in a coop dungeon for a minority of your playerbase
You end up with very little resources left to the rest
Well, thankfully i have Metaphor to enjoy

This is exactly the truth here. Plenty of new bosses… locked behind Co-Op content only that only few % will ever do.
Second reason this season is failing is ofc the 300 paragon point limit. At least players had some closure in the previous 5 seasons when it came to grinding. But with this sort of system… players are just walking away even faster than ever.
But hope D4 players are having fun this expansion. I’m really enjoying playing everything but D4 since S5 finished.

In before white knights come and say that no game was good until the 15th expansion

bug season. It was already expected. I’ve already reported bugs from season 4 that still persist in this one. The game doesn’t have to be good, they invest in marketing to get the right return.
I mean this is what happens when you have players who completely deny or look down on any criticism of the game whatsoever. They defend the game like it was their job to do so. In doing so, we get the same half baked stuff each and every time.
I like D4 for what it is, a brain dead relaxing game I can come to when I don’t feel like playing anything else. However, the defense of the game to the point where nobody wants it to get better is insufferable.
That’s all the Blizzard games in general though. The fanatics only defend, not want better.

That’s precisely the same reason I think is behind D4’s stagnation as a mediocre game. I really don’t understand why some players (the most engaged in this Forum) are so defensive when it comes to constructive criticism. I mean they obviously like it when the devs make changes and improve the quality of the game, but they lack to acknowledge where the root comes from.

The issue D4 had was 2 fold
-
The code they built on was garbage, someone pointed this out and was subsequently ignored.
-
Revolving door leadership who all want to put their unique spin on D4 to make it ‘theirs’ without grander considerations.
Both 1 and 2 come from bad leadership that doesn’t understand their role.

Season is awful. All seasonal mechanics don’t work. And boring.
Changes to mythic craft basically killed mythic craft because yo can’t target farm legendary runes.
Kurast UC is useless and boring. It gives trash for leveling not for endgame.
Nightmare dungeons are useless.
Well, they killed their game.

The original classes finally have good balance between them. That’s amazing. If it weren’t for the new class being so much stronger than the next best thing, this season would have been a hit.
But instead, they made Spiritborn so OP that it could do everything the season had to offer 10 times over before the first week was over. And now half the community (spiritborn band wagon) is bored and the other half (everyone else) is offended.

can u belive i havent done that crap citadel yet… its so long and boring … its crazy … like they dont get the fact that ppl wanna have fun … fly thru the damn game map kill mobs in 1 shot get mats to try more then 1 build in a damn crap season … not to speak about the dupeing of gold and boss mats that break the game even more … but they dont care about any of that … they just simply ignore most of facts that are going on … in hope ppl will just stop crying about it … but tbh this is the worse season that ive played so far in this game … 1 week in and im completely bored , so sick of farming mats … just to go spend them on 1 item and not getting the results i want then farm againe… its just insane … i dont think they have any clue on what they are actualy doing

I was bored after a week, and that was with an expansion. All I wanted was a ton of new uniques to hunt for and I got 1 for my class lol. I guess there are runes to hunt, but most of them are really uninspired

So glad I didn’t buy the expansion. Have 0 urge to play d4 at all. Will probably wait till I can pickup all the expansions for 9.99

Sorry man I agree that SB is like a mobile p2w level of superior power, but the original classes are far from balanced. I a main barb and the cass is the only F tier ever found in D4 (maybe some patch in D3 had F tiers, but not D4). Sorc is clearly superior to Rogue, and Rogue is even more superior to Druid. Necro might be near Rogue, that’s literally the only balance in the entire game.
Even worse than that, this is first expansion I have ever seen to offer less playable classes than the original game. Druid and especially Barb have been erased from existence (even if SB didn’t exist).
That’s the spirit. Precisely my take as well. Tbh, I’m going to see if I need VoH if the next DLC is better. I would prefer to skip it. They’ve absolutely botched it.

Well, I clealry understand and support that if you are happy with this decision, but I’ll be busy playing PoE2 or something else. There won’t be competition in the arpg market anymore.
I will likely buy the PoE2 support pack to get a key, providing the points that will come with it will be for stuff usable in either. Oh, and I’m not to optimistic for PoE2 being much different from the bs in PoE. Only thing is they will use a bunch of their PoE assets to have a lot of content at full launch.

I’m the type of player that liked the Diablo franchise because of story/atmosphere and gameplay was secondary but it was fun. I never got into other ARPGs and was not a genre guy.
But they did such a terrible job with the story/world building (atmosphere is almost on point great music great terrain design). They scared me away.

Same. History of the past 5-10 years show that any money spent with GGG is used much more wisely than money spent with Blizzard
