Right lets just sticky this and get it over with.
PoE Fans who complain D4 isn’t like PoE2 or even for that matter D2, i encourage you, go over and spend some time in the subb Reddit of D4.
Then go spend some time over at PoE or PoE2.
It’ll all become extremely obvious to why it is how it is…
They aren’t even remotely the same conversations, youll quickly learn that the majority of posts are people new to ARPGs and or Diablo.
There are people asking why they do less damage with a 3A RoK that rolled .80% instead of 3%, people asking who and what the butcher is etc etc.
TLDR - D4 and PoE are different audiences if PoE is so good go play it stop telling us “how good it is” if D4 is your game and you see it with rose tinted glasses, Fantastic!.
All this being said though if S7 is a copy paste recolour like it seems to be i will try PoE2

The final argument is that both are equally viable to play.
D4 is just a better game for casuals. POE 2 is unforgiving and complicated.
POE 2 is just a better game for hardcores. D4 is too simple and easy.
That is the bottom line. Each has a target audience and the sky is falling doomsayers here saying POE 2 was going to take over (of which I was partially one) and destroy D4 were greatly exaggerating. Go play POE 2 for a couple hundred hours like me and then you can see the issues. It is early access and they did just do a massive patch fixing many issues but they still have a whole host of issues to deal with.
Both games will be fine.
I tell the truth on each game. Im not a white knight for anyone.

This is sad but true lol, some really newbie questions its kinda scary honestly lol…
Over all i agree
But yeah just play what you like
The final arguemnt is that there shouldn’t be any arguement. People should drop this stupid tribalist attitude. These are games not [insert any competitive sport] teams.

What happens to new players in each of these games is a vastly different experience.
D4: New players can quickly be successful and tailor their experience with difficulty setting. Successful players can easily scale the hardest content in the game and become bored. Those that remain will be easily enticed to other games.
POE 2: New players can quickly be overwhelmed and priced out of the economy. Frustrated players will easily leave but those that remain will be fiercely loyal and not enticed easily to other games because of sunk costs.

PoE2 is an EA game which should be waited for. You should wait until the 1.0 release to play it (for free!) because so much of it will change from where it is now that it will not be recognizable as per EA gaming.

Yah I stopped POE 2. Cant wait for S7. Dont wanna burn myself out on EA, game has endless issues right now though they did just fix many of them, and everything we doing doesnt matter and economy is already ruined so there is that…

Nothing says “Final” like a half finished game in Early Access.

Half? Like … third. Third is generous.
6 acts. Three are out now. That isn’t half? Not to mention we’re still missing classes.

We’re getting semantically now. Everyone can use their favorite fraction.
Half story. Half classes. Half weapons. Not even complete skills for weapons had. Missing passives and persistents. Balance issues. An entire economy needs to be redone for .1.x to be addressed per guy himself on the 12th, etc. Heck maps just got major updates in 0.1.1 with 4 added towers vs the 1 and something as basic as a beacon so … I’m not thinking we’re half way there yet.

HONESTLY, IMO It wouldn’t be AS BAD as people made it until Players put POE 2 up against Diablo 4 in the first place- (not the other way around) and a “light jab” towards D 4 the creator of POE 2 said.

Neither game is in the sweet spot. POE2 has an amazing campaign but the endgame is super grindy and unrewarding.
D4 has an ok campaign but has better loot progression and ways to get more powerful.
Having said that, I this week I geared up my sorc in two nights from scratch (no bank loot) including getting some GAs from the obol vendor and perdition from crafting and I’m one shot deleting everything now. I’m already at the ‘now what…?’ Phase. It’s feeling pointless now already. Did uber Lilith and it was only the mechanics I had to worry about, my dps is insane.

I’ll take D4’s Loot Progression by master working/gambling that way
then finding Random orbs and Hopefully get what I need from That kind of gambling.

poe2 has massive problems. a lot of abilities are incredibly clunky. for example pretty much the entirety of mace. horrible hit registry and massively long attack times that don’t scale well with attack speed.
if you criticize it you will get someone who says i beat the entire campaign and went into endgame just fine so your wrong. that will get way more likes. even though i did the same and that has nothing to do with my argument. just because something is usable doesn’t mean it’s good.
hopefully druid melee is decent. poe2 has an incredible campaign and the bosses are nice. i think both poe2 and d4 have a future.

The hardcore D4 players that left for PoE2 want something like greater rifts in D3 that come with meaningful leaderboards for each classs.
D3 ONLY exists today because of the leaderboards and trying to do the best you can with the gear you have. It’s motivation to push your char and get better at the game.
Remove leaderboards and greater rifts in D3 and you can shutdown the servers the next day. It’s kept a healthy amount of players each season even in maintainance mode for over 2 years now.
I am going to try find out if leaderboards are going to come in vessel of hatred, if not you may aswell delete all your eternal chars , gear etc. New expansion will bring stronger gear that will replace that current one;/
