I think what we, players, like the most in every RPG game, is customizing our character’s skills and abilities, to make them stronger, faster, and more deadly, so they can become like mighty heroes among foes, the badasses, the ones that kick a**, like a revenge on real life
What is missing in D4 is that feeling, as past level 50 we cannot improve our skills anymore, we only have some paragon boards but they are not the same as new and more powerful skills. Paragon boards just add more damage, resistance, and armor, which are not very exciting or creative.
What I’m thinking is a revamp of the skill tree so we can improve the skill tree until level 100, then at level 100 we will get an ultimate power. Some gear aspects can be moved into skill trees, I think for example the Serpentine Aspect (add an additional hydra) for the sorcerer, it could be a great level 50 skill in the hydra branch, and so on. Currently, past level 50 we are much bored, we just have the paragon boards to keep us entertained, which is not as great as new skills.
I’m not the only one who thinks this way, many other players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the skill tree system on various forums and websites. Even the developers have acknowledged that the skill tree is still a work in progress and they are open to feedback and suggestions. I hope they will listen to us and make the skill tree more fun and diverse in the future.

Here some badass movie scene, for fun
I agree with this a lot. Its probably my main problem with D4. I think this hit even sooner than at 50.
With some minor exceptions, your skill rotation and combat loop is same at lvl 30 as at lvl 100.
Sure sure you can spam your core a bit more with decent ressource boost, or spam youd CDs with CRD etc. But its just same.
There are things which somehow change this a bit, like teleport/pull chest for wizard etc. But its just too little.
In d4 i realize for first time how numbers are meaningless. Turn off your dmg numbers, forget number of your sigil, and tell me how your game si different from NMD 1 and nmd 50…
I know its getting old but its just everytime good example… What I like about PoE is that even in uber late game I know if I get two another affixes I will be able to squeeze one more aura, or use some skill, or there is a item which allow me to play very different.
I miss that at D4. Where you play at lvl 30 almost same as at geared 100. Just numbers above mobs heads are bigger…

Reading this makes me wonder why there’s no new AAA ARPG out there right now
I hope Larian could make one.
It’s not just the skills that are boring, the legendary affixes are mostly boring as well. You have your one build defining legendary aspect which powers up your main damage dealing attack and the rest just buff a bunch of numbers behind the scenes and end up doing more damage or buffing a little bit of defence.
The game also needs more transformative uniques like Tempest Roar and a better and more reliable road to obtaining those types of items earlier in the game. Say you have a build that needs the helm but you can’t get one to drop until level 95, where is the fun in that?
Now I think all of this stuff will come to the game eventually, but the devs need to stop the steady drip and start releasing a bit more than what is currently in the pipeline. Additionally if they release a full price expansion it needs to double the powers and items available in the base game.
We need more choices and more fun interjected into the game. Nobody wants D3 levels of power, but some level of progression through gear, skills and paragon that changes the look and feel of the game would be nice.
