D4 server slam = launch

We are under 4 weeks out. This server slam is basically launch, it will be identical in every way from game performance to gameplay experience.

Anyone else considering getting a refund on the preorder now? I was thinking of getting the $480 Voidborn supporter pack for PoE instead.

Nope.

Judging a live service game based on first 2 hours of gameplay is absolute nonsense. Things like game pacing, class balance etc. will be worked out over the pre-season when there’s tons of feedback happening

Why are they looking to reinvent the wheel? Feedback? They’ve had 11 years of feedback with D3. No, no, no. They don’t get to have their cake and eat it to. It doesn’t work that way.

D3 feedback has nothing to do with D4

Thanks! I will do my best :joy:

Nope, I’m having a blast and can’t wait til launch! I’m over PoE, it got a bit too complicated, and after missing a few seasons I’m just lost there. Been waiting for D4 pretty much since everyone bailed on D3.

I also have a quick, possibly dumb, question. Are there chat channels during Server Slam? If so, I’ve been unable to find them. Thanks!

if you click chat then press tab it goes to ‘trade chat’ which, im not sure who it broadcasts to but i’m using it as a filler for zone/world chat lol

Général chat? Why would they? Previous games had it, but D4 is designed from scratch with zero design experience and feedback from previous titles. D4 is a new comers game, not for fans of the ARPG genre. Don’t be silly!

maybe there’s a lack of world/general/zone chat because everything offends everyone these days, just saying hi might make 50 pink haired people angry.

And nearly 22 years of feedback from D2.

Interesting take. This brings me back to the past discussions around D4 being woke in a positive and educational way.

D1: Hellfire is still the best entry in the franchise for a reason

Because it was developed and published by Sierra?

I am not a conspiracy theorists but imho d3 is evidence that it was designed in every way to suppress the successes of Blizzard North in every way possible. D3 literally has no continuity in any way with its predecessors other that sharing the game name.

Game works like a charm. Even more optimized as it runs 10 or 15 fps more on average.
