Conditional Affixes

Loot filters exist because stash capacity is limited.
What if stash capacity was unlimited ?

Rules:

  • Stash auto-receives all loot
  • Stash has infinite capacity
  • Stash has infinite scrolling
  • Stash is accessible anytime
  • Stash is searchable
  • Items can have conditional affixes
  • Equipment accepts any item in any slot

This way:

  • Loot filter (pre-filter) is useless
  • Stash filter (post-filter) is useful
  • Stashed items often match affixes conditions
  • Damage on Tuesdays is okay
  • Items have depth and evolve
  • Items are always useful
  • No quality / rarity
  • No town loop
  • No recycling
  • No material management
  • Billions of builds and combinations

Explainer

  • { Infinite Stash + Searchable Stash + Any item Any slot }: unlocks the practical usage of conditional affixes, which is a flexible way to create customized RNG builds, that are efficient against boredom
  • Infinity Stash: Bag of Holding / Handy Haversack / Portable Hole
  • Searchable Stash: ElasticSearch like. Algo: Okapi BM25
  • Any item Any slot: Like Warcraft 3. A hole is a hole
  • Stash accessible anytime: Portable stash, accessible outside town
  • Stashed items often match affixes conditions: By storing all loot ever produced by the game in the stash, the chance to realize conditions attached to conditional affixes is drastically improved. This is why the Infinity Stash is a prerequisite for conditional affixes. Ingest now, Filter later
  • No shared stash, No P2P Trade: Acceptable compromises if needed
  • Wits, Conductivity: New granular attributes can easily be added to the game
  • Red Lightning Hose: New Skills on items
  • 18%: Compatibility Score
  • No quality / rarity: Compatibility Score is more precise
  • Compatibility Score: Based on the item’s ability to support equipped skills. DPS oriented by default. Different strategies are available in the options. The percentage shows the relative power of the item, compared to the maximum Compatibility Score. This way, when the player observes a decrease in the score, it immediately knows that more powerful items are waiting in the Stash
  • Search Score: Based on player’s request, as typed in the search input of
    the Infinity Stash. To search for a Compatibility Score, just type « 18% »
  • Default Sort: By default, when the input is empty, the items having the highest Compatibily Score are displayed first. Fast and easy to equip the best items
