D4 on Pc with Controller

Hi just curious, does controller have force movement or that is build in ? also how is the feeling, im only used to mouse keyboard.

and which controller would you recomend ?

There’s no cursor. Move is the joy stick. So there’s really not a force move. It’s just move. As for which controller, I’ve no idea. Every one I buy breaks.

What do you mean force movement? You move the stick in a direction and the character goes/aims that direction

a move that does not attack

Do you not know how a joystick works?

So if there is joystick movement on PC, why can’t we have WASD? Seems odd.

Buy the xbox one and it plays very well, its more relaxing then on keyboard and mouse.

Also button for cancel annoying npc dialogues is instant not like on pc when I have hit exc 2x or 3x

i do, im that generation

Then what are you even trying to ask here?

Those are two different things, the stick moves you in the direction you want to go, the buttons do the attacking. I love using the controller, in fact I use the XBOX Elite Series 2 controller.

as im used just to Mouse and keyboard, when you move with mouse you auto attack, and you need to bind Force move, to actually move through a mass of mobs or get closer to Ashave. As i never have played any Diablo game with a controller, i cant assume it works like with mouse or similar, thus the question

It works like a joystick. You move where you tilt the stick. I don’t see how this is confusing.

i got my answers, it is quite different from mouse movement seems to be more intuitive with controller/joystic

I asked the same thing. Apparently the joystick movement doesn’t make up for the inferiority of the controller targeting compared to the mouse and keyboard.

Thank you, ordered one on Amazon now

Hey, I am just sharing my DIY. Since u said that you are more used to keyboard mouse.

During server slam, I played with a mixbox :slightly_smiling_face:. (It’s that fighting game buttons, except with wasd for it’s left side). And since D4 detects controller, so the wasd on mixbox works, along with the skill buttons. Can use mouse too.

Sounds weird, but hey, it’s an option :slightly_smiling_face:

get the series x or ps5 controller. It’s probably the 2 best right now.

Targeting is fine. In some cases superior as you can lock your target and never worry about missing. In other cases it is not because its kind of clunky to cycle through the targets to get the one you want. At least for me it is.

What is inferior is movement skills and skills you place down like Hydra. Teleport is a set distance and its pretty short. Its also not very intuitive to aim like a mouse as you have to hope the direction you are facing is where you are teleporting to.

I love the movement though and for me it’s worth it because I hate point and click movement. Also the switch between controller and M&K is seamless and I can switch back and forth instantly. So I can use mouse for things like inventory and menus and such.

I personally use a microsoft elite 2. Very nice controller. Its expensive but well made and has 4 paddles you can assign to buttons so you never have to take your thumbs off the sticks if you dont want to. I actually like the PS5 controller better but the microsoft controller works with windows a lot better ( its just a comfort thing for me and why I like the ps5 better.) There were a few non steam games that I tried and it wouldn’t even recognize I had a controller with the PS5 one. Some other games would recognize it but would show the xbox control scheme. Its just easier and less headaches to use an xbox controller with windows and this elite 2 controller is a very nice compromise.

I tried controller for a few hours, the implementation and functionality are great.

I used both a playstation and xbox controller, I would suggest using whatever you prefer, for me it’s the xbox. I think the xbox wins overall unless you play claw grip.

I reverted to mouse and keyboard and never felt tempted to pick the controller back up, even when I felt like playing in my bed.

Honestly, I suggest you stick to mouse and keyboard.

depends what you are used to.

The ps4/ps5 ones work excellent as well. And have another function with the touchpad the xbox does not.

even the nintendo pro controller switch works great, but i wouldnt reccommend buying it for pc only, it has more problems then other controllers to make it work on various games on pc.
