D4 needs solo player love

I believe PoE even has an opt in downscaling feature for those who want to progress alongside their buddies.

Heck even GW2 in my opinion does level scaling really well. I never felt weak coming back to old areas. The story/levelling experience in GW2 was undoubtedly enjoyable. Seeing as how Diablo 4 is going the MMO ARPG route emphasis on O-ONLINE ONLY.

At least if there was an offline mode like D3… Modders could rectify this situation. Group content such as world events go by fast and are enjoyable in the groups of people it pulls in. Although 99% of content the majority of people do will be solo. I am not saying there isn’t mass amounts of group play, but lessbe-hhhhonest here… majority of the playerbases in arpgs are solo.

If D4 had a scaling opt in/out feature then I would have no complaints. Fact is, it’s not fun having to use all my skills 24/7 for every mob. The joy of a build is to go all out on the elite/boss feeling a sense of power and satisfaction. Having to use my whole kit to take out a bunch of trash-mobs is not rewarding; It is tedious and annoying. By the time I end up facing a boss in a dungeon I already feel burnt out and annoyed. Going through one mini boss just to traverse another 5 minutes to get to the boss. Giving no sense or desire to ever touch those dungeons again. The satisfaction comes from knowing I never have to do that dungeon again. Until you realize most dungeons have this layout and you realize you’re going to either redo the dungeons or stop playing all together.

I have finished the campaign as a side note and I am lvl 48 on my rogue. I have done my best to find gear that would scale well through the levels but this scaling feature has left me on a time limit saying… EH GET BETTER GEAR FAST! Whilst RNG says eh eh not today son…

They say this game is for casual gamers and yet tell you that you can not take your time gearing and levelling. You have to level tediously and don’t forget in a level or two your gear will be significantly weaker. Unless you got some nice rng roll that you can hold onto for a few levels.

This is why I love PoE so much even though it’s a mess right now. Even though drops have been nerfed to the high heaven. I can still level at my own pace and the game respects my time invested for the most part. Diablo 4 does not respect your time nor does it respect the solo player community. It’s not hard to simply put zone 0-10, 11-25, 26-45, etc… all the way to 87-100 or something. Legit just cap the zones or at least allow for people to opt into that kind of gameplay. It’s not about oh well I am doing fine with the scaling idk what difficulty you are having brain dead comments. It’s not impossible to progress it’s simply not enjoyable. ARPG games are the action games of clickers. We want to see incremental gain of resource/power. Want to feel a sense of progression. You are taking DOOM guy and going lets make all the enemies as strong as him. Even the tiny imps. If our character can bloody defeated Lilith then why is it so tedious to simply kill trash mobs. You literally made trashmobs mini trashmob bosses. You literally put archnemesis into D4 trashmobs but the only stat increase is HP and time to kill. Like why???

What the hell do solo players get out of your so called group friendly level scaling?? I paid a $100 bucks for this game. Games beautiful and it’s a lot of fun at times, but did I mention that your level scaling is shaight already?

If anything, group play should be penalized since it’s so much easier than solo play. Solo play should reap the most XP per hour. It’s not even a question if solo play should be equivalent at least.

This game is easy, you just suck. Everything outside nm dungeon is a 1 shot.

Here is the I don’t know what you are talking about it’s easy comment :3
EDIT- I never said the game became super difficult and impossible. I simply said it is tedious and annoying. I preemptively mentioned players like you in the post for a reason.

You made a tldr garbage about scaling, then proceeded to complaint about nothing. There better?

I mean these posts can help with venting a player/communities frustrations. I mean I simply find the level scaling poorly implemented and other games have done it better. That’s a fact mate. No need to get upset at the facts.

Leveling has never been the issue. If anything the empty hollow end game is something that’s worth discussing. Like what’s the point of improving the solo experience if only to end up doing nm dungeons over and over for what?

Personally I don’t understand the reason and/or need to give buffs to either Party play or Solo play. Just remove the buffs entirely.

All it does it penalise one side or the other. If you want to group, fine, group but mobs HP scale etc… no need to increase the XP they give just for the sake of it.

Remove the buffs entirely and problem solved.

Really? Dude, I’ve abandoned my 75 lvl
Ice shards sorc, because i was lucky to get good gear on 70. And then all gameplay became just so chill and booring that I had to go to something else.

Now playing earth druid, 74 lvl. I use all of my stuff for every mob and pack. And that’s gives some challenge, and feels rewarding.

Eh I think that is a valid argument not only for solo players but for group play as well. The endgame is just as important as the levelling experience. If levelling hasn’t been an issue for you Oni… I am glad you had a good time. For a player like myself I find level scaling done like this to be tedious and annoying for solo play.

EDIT- If they scaled trash mobs slightly below you and elite mobs were the same and bosses would be slightly above even. I wouldn’t have a problem with that. The problem I have is the trashmobs feel like they die the same elite mobs. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between them. Except for the big dudes haha

Its either you drive slowly off a cliff or get into a Ferrari and drive much faster off a cliff. In the end, there’s nowhere to go but a bigass fire of death that is the end game

Perhaps they can work on endgame content first and passively tweak scaling to see the best response they get from players. I am aware they are looking to tweak and fix a lot things by season 1. Maybe both our prayers will be answered!
