D4 Leveling Vs PoE leveling

I play on pc at 4k.

And you are the one crying the leveling is so hard and you need the game nerfed. So stop crying.

Level scaling is awesome and you can play with lower level friends and they can contribute with damage.

It’s so true it hurts. D4 doesn’t need to be POE, nor do I want it to be, but I don’t see how they’ve made leveling such an awful, slog of an experience.

I can play with my lower level friends on POE, even better, I don’t actually one shot all of their mobs and make the game not fun for them. So you are wrong.

Leveling is super fast in the buffed NM dungeons. Ppl just keep crying its so cringe.

Yes the NM dungeon buff helped with leveling in the end game.

However the pre NM dungeon grind feels awful still.

This is the real problem. Solving mana is not fun. A build being fun only when you have solved it (which can only be solved in end-game) is not fun.

Realistically, solving mana should be achieveable at any level so that we can at least enjoy our skills throughout the whole levelling process.

Its not, you can make lvl 45 in what like 10-15 hours and then grind WT3 where it is also fast. Then you can also jump on NMD train.

Eh. I was on last night with my buddy helping him through WT3/WT4. It was fast enough, but the game is done for me at lvl 85. No reason to level more as U.L. doesn’t drop anything amazing. I would literally blow packs up with 1 shot. Everything was dead before he could get to it.

Pre NM is a slog. Even if they made it 3 kills to level 100, the game would be a slog for those 3 kills.

10 - 15 hours is not a minor time sink especially when it feels awful.

Depends on class, rogues are generaly on good spot from start to finish.

So we are now limiting what classes we can play to have fun? I’d also argue the rogue is the only fun class and the only class interesting to play.

Everyone kind of agrees that rogue feels solid from start to finish. But the question is why?

Is it the fast gameplay? For some that is the reason.

Is it the fact that early on they get the tools to deal with the awful builder/spender system? Again for some this is the reason.

Rogue just has it all along with decently tanky until you start entering the end game.

Blizzard really needs to push the other classes to be in line with rogue for the early game.

I am not saying the game is perfect, I also dont like generators/spenders builds so I try to avoid that mechanic in my builds as I can.

The main reason why game is slog is the generators which does zero damage and are only annoying, aka sorc and chain lightning to cast 3x and be out of mana, if it was like that whole time I would rate the game 0/10 so no wonder there is so much hate on the game over all. Some classes and builds are just pathetic.

End game is fine, I don’t have a problem with that. It’s the 1-50 experience that is a boring slog.

I’m convinced the people that enjoyed scaling, are playing the the strongest meta builds so they are flying through content and feel powerful so they don’t notice it. Probably rogue players.

Modern Blizzard developers don’t care about your power fantasy. They care whether game systems are able to balanced, so that the typical gameplay experience fits whatever model they’ve envisioned.

PoE rewards knowledge. If you know how to build a character, take advantage of vendor recipes, craft correctly, add the best support gems to a given skill, etc., you’ll easily smash the campaign and nearly everything else up until maybe yellow or red maps, depending on a variety of factors.

Both videos feature characters that are at roughly analogous points in the campaigns of the respective games. The D4 character is level 44 and the PoE character is in Act 9. If one is attempting to demonstrate what it’s like to play through the campaign of each game, this is a fair comparison.

A high level char? The fact you think that shows the huge difference between the games. That is a char in act 9 which is basically the same progress wise as the D4 video.

End game builds are SOOOO much faster than what was shown here. People speak with 0 knowledge, it shows  .

Just say you are clueless, it’s ok.

This is what happens when you put mmo devs on an arpg and think you can marry the two together. All the while also trying to make some story driven open world rpg.

Yeah that’s the problem with this game. It’s built like they couldn’t decide if it was an MMO or ARPG and it isn’t good at either.

They could make an MMO with ARPG style gameplay but then it shouldn’t be seasonal resets and it need like 100x more itemization, raids, social stuff, etc… Or they could make an ARPG but it needs to get rid of level scaling, more itemization, faster leveling, more skill diversity.

I notice in the PoE ā€œlevelingā€ clips he’s already level 63 meaning he’s already past all of the worst parts of the game. He’s comparing end-game gameplay to his dog Barb build.

An actual meme. The mental gymnastics of PoE shills is next level. Stay mad that people don’t play your bad game, lol.
