I wasted $70. The game freezes constantly, even after troubleshooting, and when it does run, it’s extremely laggy. I’m usually fine with making some concessions with games on older hardware, but this one is just not a good experience at all. I feel like this was a cash grab to get it out on as many platforms as possible.
I either need a patch or a refund. I’m very disappointed.

Works fine for me… Sounds like your ISP.

You haven’t had any hard crashes or lock ups? That’s surprising. I seem to have one every hour at least. Every other game works flawlessly on my console, so it can’t be my hardware. I’ve seen reddit posts about this issue as well. You must be one of the lucky ones. Are you playing on a pro?

Looks like it’s the perfect time to start saving your lunch money and start planning to upgrade your system to something more respectable and up to date.
PlayStation in general, is not a good starting point. Rather, it’s better to switch over to an Xbox series x for a much more smoother gaming experience. I recommend pairing the series x with a nice 60-70” flat screen uhd 4k tv to take total advantage of the graphics and improved frame rate. Lastly, you need to have decent internet. By decent I mean 250-500 mbps minimum for an overall smooth gaming experience during peak times of play.
I play on PS5 and it’s working flawlessly, so I don’t get where you are going with this. Aside from having serious anti-PS agenda
I’d advise him to upgrade to PS5 because PS4 is getting phased out and it’s only matter of time before D4 drops support for it but your comment is just fanboy rant

I’m going to laugh here.
The argument of which console is better is moot point. The more important issue is the OPs.
Go with whatever console, however in the interest of financials, OP would be best going with PS5, as he has D4 on the PS4, which of course saves them 70 bucks on the total costs. The game might be cross play enabled, but it’s definitely not cross console transferable between Sony/ Microsoft.
This is coming from an Xbox series X ummm, fanboy? Was it??
One option for the PS4, if the OP has not yet tried it, is to disable the crossplay function and see if that smooths things out?
Maybe reset router/ check speeds/ clear dust, debris from ports

No im having the same issue too im pretty sure its Sony not blizzard. Sony is trying to faze out ps4 for the ps5 and the customers are just getting railed in the process. But blizzard still do something about this because its making your game unplayable.

My buddy has xbox isp sucks but im on cox ps4 and never have issues so yeah probably need better isp or router
I cross play w my xbox buddy all the time
I dont care what logic your trying too use right now… i have a series X no issues on my end but if the game is sold on last gen for the same price as new gen you really dont see an issue with that? Lol
U dont know where hes going with this??? LOL some of you seriously should put a little more effort into that brain of yours because he literaly says hes on PS4 and your reply made 0 sense… my opinion is blizz shouldnt be charging the same price for old and last gen game if the last gen system cant run the game
You think ps5 is a better financial decision then a new gen xbox with more power and a gamepass subscription that gives you hundreds of games? Ummm no… dont get me wrong dude i want too play helldivers pretty dam bad and i am a little jealous
Wow, necro thread.
Ok, now that D4: trainwreck is coming to Xbox, might be better as the OP now saves the cost of the rip off price blizdaddy wants for D4, and gains access to gamepass library (with palworld no less), but yeah, I to wanna play helldivers, just not wanting to fork out more cash on consoles.

Yea xbox hasnt released a good 1st party game in a while honestly and i think PS5 is still great… helldivers not comming to xbox is the same feeling the ps5 guys got when they couldnt play palworld all in all we need games like those too release on all platforms… the only thing that sucks is i think sony bought the rights to helldivers so we will never get access to that game on xbox but after a year playstation will probably be able to play palworld… xbox releasing sea of thiefs on playstation will hopefully lighten them up a bit so we can get a playstation exclusive possibly who know tho…
Truth, that said, Indy devs coming out swinging this year.
If helldivers does come to Xbox, that will be nice, currently though Sony have been whining about Microsoft buying up actibliz, so I doubt it.
That said, if palworld gets available on Sony, I’m not going to complain, it’s more players to come join the horde

Video games are great, and you should play them on your platform of choice, be it PC, Xbox, or PlayStation.
For first party exclusives, with the cost and time of development now it’s making less and less sense to restrict them to a single platform; far too much money is being left on the table.
Sony just shutdown their London studio and laid off many PlayStation employees, including at Insomniac, who’s games are mega-successful. There PlayStation profit margin has dropped and things aren’t all rosy there despite being the console industry leader. They’re dabbling more with putting their first party games on PC, i.e. Helldivers 2 launching on PC along with the console version, because they can’t keep their eggs in one basket anymore.
Xbox has been doing cross platform with PC for several years now, and is testing the waters with bringing even more games multiplatform, which will increase their revenue overall. There plan has better overall long term potential, but time will tell.
Agreed, the exclusives and lack of cross platforms between Sony and Microsoft’s Xbox plus pc are indeed a letdown, with only a select number being cross platform.
The other main issue is lack of competitive pricing, everything’s going up on cost, nothings being priced competitively on ANY platform. Plus the constant monetisation of games that you pay full price for.
D4 not withstanding. That’s apparently hitting game pass soon, after slugging people AAA price for something that needed more beta time, and less complaints about X/Y/Z class is overpowered during the level cap period of 25…… which of course saw the great nerf whacking of season 1……. While bugs that should have been sorted out remained because people focussed too heavy on power play
But hey, at least the cash shop works right?

In terms of hardware, that’s because the cost of the parts have not come down as they did in past console generations. Thus, Sony and Microsoft can’t lower their console costs (and actually raised them in most global markets about a year or so ago) since they’re already loosing money per console.
If you don’t watch Digital Foundry, I highly recommend their Weekly Direct videos, as they’ve been discussing this (and other topics) over the last few weeks. Very informative from an industry insider perspective. Xbox actually predicted that hardware costs would not drop this generation, and told Digital Foundry back in early 2020 that was part of the reason they made the Xbox Series S: to be a lower cost current generation entry point.
For software, for several years now I’ve found far too many games launch in a poor state, so there’s only a very select few franchises that I buy at launch (Mortal Kombat and Halo), and the rest I wait since sales for software hit after only about 3-4 months now. I bought Diablo IV around Halloween, which was something like 30-40% off.

250 mb for online play what a laugh there.
Get a PS5 Diablo IV on a PS4 is a joke. You can’t even run it on a Xbox One X. You will have to stick with Diablo 2 resurrected.
