D4 is more fun than PoE

Well,it’s the first 2 weeks of beta. Lots is not in the game atm, the story itself if just half done atm. Knowing how GGG works you know they will be adding alot before final release let alone up coming leagues.

I hit end game the other day, atlas is ok ,a bit over tuned. I’ll make some alts while I am waiting for updates/patches.

You mean the way I n so many others expected better out of D4?

Let me remind you of the biggest issue I have with D4!

The Multiyear/Multiproduct PC Destroying Fenris problem.

What products you ask?

D4, D3, D2R & Possibly DI, As well as according to their forums,

Call of Duty, Overwatch…:person_facepalming:

:unamused:

BTW Don’t bother trying to act friendly I remember your past actions &

I love to play Diablo 2+3+4 . Still playing D3 when there is a nice funny season.
During D3 S7-8 I was told, you need to try PoE, you will like it and ofc it did. It took me 3 years to come back to Diablo, because the game is so much better if you want to build a character. It looks huge if you see the tree for first time, but it all makes sense. The support gems make each skill different if you want it, you could have much diversity.
For me, it started to get too big with all those leagues mechaics that came to core game it got too huge. There is so much you could do, that it would take longer than a league lasts to do everything. And it is not so easy to kill the bosses. In D4 there is only Lilly that is hard to kill, in Poe each boss could be so.
I have not played PoE2 yet and will wait until the free release and have my stashes from part 1. One thing in PoE2 is good and bad. For me it looks like it is a better looking but still same PoE. Even items are same and skill guides would work from 1. Maybe they use all the good what they had and know and later will add new skills and story, i would hope so.

For now I am playing D4 and have fun. It is the more fun game and the gameplay is fast. PoE is good, but some of us prefer to play Diablo.

No need to remind me. I dont care about your issues with d4.

Happy holidays

I’d have to agree with you. To me, PoE2 isn’t even really an ARPG. It’s some odd hybrid between an arcade game and an ARPG. Not my thing but I’m sure some people will enjoy it.

I do wonder how many people will bother with PoE2 seasonal content. Given the difficulty I expect a lot of people to play it like a one-and-done game. In the meantime I’m going to stick with D4 with the odd dip into D2.

Personally, I find D4 more enjoyable because my definition of fun is being able to one-shot everything. Playing PoE 2 felt more like a struggle than fun for me. I mean, who doesn’t love spending hours getting obliterated by mobs, right? It’s like a dream come true… if your dream is to be perpetually frustrated.

If 1-shotting is so much fun for many people then it would be nice to have a DIV - Arcade mode.

I agree the combat is more fun in POE2. Just the simple fact that I can use abilities without worrying about cooldowns is so refreshing. Mana is more than enough to keep endless spamming in check. We dont need the added crutch of long cooldowns. That just makes gameplay more frustrating in my opinion.

Agreed. Going from normal to cruel difficulty was night and day. I’m breezing through cruel difficulty right now it’s kind of insane.

In all honesty though I think it’s under tuned right now. We’re supposed to get 6 acts eventually right? So taking that into account we’d be closer to level 60-70 going into cruel? Figure I was roughly 40-45 when I finished normal and that was only 3 acts.

Normal difficulty definitely feels more punishing in the beginning than cruel does though. Obviously you don’t have gear, or great skills, passives, etc. So it makes sense, but the bosses do feel like sponges because you’re so weak in comparison. Where as Cruel just feels like bosses are made out of particle board.

Cruel difficulty is a temporary mode to compensate the lack of act 4-6. Those acts will replace cruel when they are released and this mode will be gone.

Oooh ok, I thought it would work like PoE 1, my mistake.

Well, kind of as they dropped this design when they released acts 6-10 in 3.0 few years ago. It will just happen at 1.0 rather than 3.0 in POE2

Not gonna lie, I dipped out of PoE 1 a while ago. I enjoyed it, but it got to be grueling every league after a while for me. I’ve only skimmed a few changes over the years, as I feel I have to go through a 60 page report now just to get back into the game. Thank you for the information though.

Right now, yeah. I think D4 is a lot more fun than PoE 1 or 2. I’ve played D4 through endgame a few times now, with a few different builds. I’ve yet to even get to PoE2’s endgame because It’s not as fun or as polished, and the class I really want to try isn’t in the game yet. I’d love to check out their take on the Druid. D4’s Druid is a disappointment to me. Hopefully D4’s people boost the Druid and let them shine for at least one season, like all the other classes have gotten to do…

But I digress and I have room in my heart (and SSD) for both.

I’m sure glad you folks are the minority…

I can’t imagine thinking d4 does a single thing better than poe2 beta; not even an insult, or sarcasm…I honestly can’t even think of a single thing Blizzard does does better…

Anyway, best part is: You can all have d4 for as long as your heart’s desire! Blizzard, and Duriel, appreciate your efforts and will reward you with the same item drops for eternity!!

Merry Christmas and have fun!

D4 and poe2 caters to different gamers. D4 caters to more casual gamers who want a relaxing game play. POE2 is more for real arpg fans.

They are not in competition at all imo.

I play both D4 and PoE 1 & 2, love all of them

The thing i love about PoE is the potential of build diversity for all of it Classes. You can either go full pure (warrior, monk, witch, sorc, merc, ranger) with their ascendencies…or custom hybrid your class into other spectacular build

Example i’ve seen for poe2 are such like :

*warrior with Merc passive skill mix for maxing fire damage grenades.
*Monk using warrior slam skill but enhance with ice damage.
*Witch with ranger or sorc skill to further enhance elements damage or sorc with curse.

the build possibility by combining and crossing classes Ascendancies and passive is what makes the discovery proses fun, sometimes it works sometimes it don’t.

The classes are not limit to fixed skills or play styles. You can go full pure or just crazy hybrid

Again…love both game D4 and PoE :game_die:

And you’d be wrong, but don’t worry you have a lot of company around here.

I’m strictly playing poe2 these days. They cater to completely different gamers.

D4 = casual relaxing boom type game play

POE2= methodical, theory craftin, much more in depth punishing game play with real progression.

It’s not a competition at all. D4 absorbs random casuals who are adverse to any type of complexity or challenge and POE/POE2 has it’s committed niche fanbase, but POE2 is obviously more popular on twitch and YT.
