D4 is more fun than PoE

I don’t even have interest in respecing, maybe if they made other builds worth playing instead of the 1-2 they pick that season, it might have some longevity

I do. I have 4 characters through the campaign now. It’s not difficult if you learn what you are doing.

Ya until they do something with trials, key drops and lousy mechanics for mele I will be playing it pretty casual now.

Story was great, atlas isn’t to bad ,but without ascendancy tree fill out progression is next to impossible. Honor system is aweful and ultimatum you need to have good gear. Not sure what they will do with it.

Yeah I don’t agree with this one. I don’t want 123 choices where I find out at choice 80 something that I bricked my character on choice 10. Especially with the way gear works. You can balance your build out by changing points around to compensate for where newer gear lacks. You aren’t always getting the same stat gear through a whole game.

These sorts of statements are just nonsense trolling efforts. Let the game mature, then we can compare.

No it isn’t. Cruel difficulty is like doing D4 helltides easy. If you struggle in cruel difficulty then there is something wrong with your build.

Sure, no one wants to find a decision that they made at step 2 being something that completely has to be redone at the very end.

And normally this shouldnt happen UNLESS you are playing a game like d4 where builds and gear can change in any given season.

This is more important clearly for eternal players.

If designed well, limited respec or escalating cost relative to how far you rollback can really give more depth of feel to an rpg.

I miss a time when you lost experiece or levels if you died or lost some gear or lost a singular piece.

But diablo has no accountability outside of hardcore.

XP loss on death I don’t mind. I was an EverQuest player for a long time. Bricking your character is too punishing to me.

Me too dude, everquest 1999. Bertoxxx server!

Yeah, i agree bricking a character should generally be impossible. Again, respecs can always be available, the question is really how bad the cost is to do it relative to the systems design.

I mean right now respect vs rolling a new character which takes a couple hours?

Almost not a big deal. Granted you do have to relevel glyphs.

If it was like the beginning when it took 60 to 80 hours of play to make another character and level to 100…lol?

I expect this is no.1 on priority list in January - my hunch is they’re already brainstorming ‘solutions’ (I would, if I were one of those nerds & had 1 obsession outside of family).

Idk what could work - and I haven’t played melee yet & haven’t tried to complete ascendancy either. My experience so far has been: a potentially big problem has been fixed way before I get around to experiencing it… so the future’s bright.

how much did bliz pay you?

I knew you was trolling with this statement alone.

I’m a huge blizz fan I’ve played all of Diablo plus wow for 2 decades.

But poe2 took me away to GGG. I think this is the ARPG for me.

I feel Diablo 4 is the casual version of arpg which is fine and has a huge market for it.

POE2 got me thinking about where to spend my points, got me tinkering with different build. The game is challenging, and punishing which i kind of like.

I’m very much into it now and probably will never log into d4 again.

Really? No one has ever died during a helltide. Bosses can still kill you on cruelty.

It is more like it is designed to make you feel like playing something.
It’s the core issue with Blizzard where the company and its gamers encourage low standard, mediocrity.
D4, WoW both are built on a gameplay loop where the game plays itself, the “players” are more like digital collectors, spending their time in the loop to get some digital goodies and that’s where the dopamine comes from.
That being said, D4 is a blizzard quality design mess, where the difficulty is all over the place the only challenge being the pit where it’s just a matter of gear, spamming one button for dmg and trying to run through it as fast as possible.
Understandably there are people calling it fun, but that’s why there’s this gigantic gap between D4 and POE2 players.

blizzard fanbois in shambles and coping

I did long time ago !!! Proud victim of the helltide

Hahaahahahhahahah.

Okay.

I think D4 is more fun. PoE 2 is only perceived as better because it is new but one day you’ll grow tired of it.

Do you love slow and methodical gameplay? Or do you prefer fast and explosive gameplay? It’s subjective. PoE 2 is not objectively a better game and it only services the niche fanbase of D2 fanboys who don’t want to play any game that isn’t a copy/paste of D2 with better graphics. D2 fans can have D2R and PoE 2 but D4 is a completely different game and is more modern and streamlined than PoE 2 and D2.
