D4 is in GOOD state

D4 has some issues, but overall its in a good state, all the current problems are minor and can be solved in couple of months. Just stay postivie and patient. We will get there.

Cheers.

I appreciate the sentiment, yet I disagree. There’s a few major problems but YOU ARE RIGHT.
They CAN BE SOLVED.

I believe there’s two categories of problems right now.

  1. The ‘easily’ fixed
    • Drop rates, bugs, bottlenecks, etc.

  2. The ‘not so easily’ fixed
    • Class Balancing, meaningful endgame content, reworking of older systems, etc.

S7 will not solve all the problems people have with the game, not by a long shot. We can only hope it starts to move it in the right direction again.

I think they did a good job with all the improvements up to until VoH launched, but a lot of that was undermined when VoH launched and began to prolong the same processes we enjoyed up to that point. Not that all the changes are bad in VoH mind you, but it still needs work.

I wish that was the case, this same balance problem plaguing the game atm has been there since launch I’m not sure how a few more months will fix it, overall the game is in a better spot I’ll agree on that

imo D4 is in awfull state, and there is no “easy” fixes for that. All “easy” fixes will be just a bandaging.
More than that i actually think that there are core issues that pretty much impossible to fix and they will always prevent this game to be good.
Scaling/itemization/cooldowns and etc are a good examples for this.

I think the only thing they need to do is class balance and get rid of flavor of the month.

This is the first season im still playing after a month of season release.

They can also use a few more end game modes to give more variety. DC and UC were good additions but greater rifts still end up being the place to be for paragon grind. I hope they balance other activities cause GR/Pits are boring af

lol, will they stay patient when it’s time to pay them or do they want the money right away? Another Blizzard simp.

63% rating on google. Find another game with a score that low, lmfao.

Why do i care what other people think? Besides a lot cant cope with RNG. D4 is basic and simple but when PoE2 comes out it will be delicious seeing all the complaints about gear being rare.

That’s a thing for sure lol, people complain about rates here when poe2 will probably have some items so rare it’ll take 5 seasons to see one drop but defending it at the same time, all I can guess is they haven’t played poe1

Yep. Dont get me wrong S6 was definetly a step in the right direction for gear rarity. I found a pair of 2ga gloves yesterday that were super exciting.

I also switched to HC, so I do find excitement in gear upgrades. Its a completely different feeling, community and playstyle.

PoE2 will definitely be more of an arpg but the majority of D4 players want an arcade game not an arpg. I think devs are doing a decent job pushing back from turning it into the D3 arcade style of game.

Uh… that’s a horrible argument lol.

Quick google search shows, just for the year of 2024 mind you:

Skull and Bones
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Awakening
Dustborn

I can continue, there’s plenty more with lower ratings then D4’s VoH. This isn’t in defense of VoH mind you, just stating facts, take them for what you will.

Class balance actually is easy to solve they just refuse to take the first step which is to gut all these multipliers

This game is near perfect. Finally!

While I’m inclined to believe you, I have no expertise in the matter. For example just playing devils advocate with your idea, adjusting it so the multipliers are gone would mean we do less damage overall correct?

So taking that into account, difficulty needs to be adjusted across the board sgain. Now this may be on the easier side, just adjust some HP numbers, but there could be more involved.

Not to mention you have to think of everything that has multipliers, including items, skill trees, paragon nodes, glyphs, etc. So now we need a rework of items, and possibly other things yet again.

I may be missing other unseen factors as well. I’m not a game developer, so I have little to no knowledge of all the systems that would be impacted by a change like this. I’m just saying I don’t think it’s as easy as you may portray it is all.

If you read what I said is that they needed to balance classes and get rid of flavor of the month. Thats constructive criticism.

Game has problems for sure.

  1. Balance
  2. Over simplified gear

:person_shrugging: im still having fun tho and at the end of the day thats all that matters. Harecore is definitely better then softcore.

For D4s faults combat is good prior to everything being a 1shot. I do miss CC tho, it provided extra layers of combat besides smashing your face into the keyboard

D4 is in GOOD state

Negative Nancy and her sister Debbie Downer will jump all over this one, wait for it.

You are aware that the playercount in season 6 + VoH dropped faster then s 4 and s5?

So s6 plus an entire ADDON lost player imnterest faster then two normal seasons, one of those was not even a season at all.

All i see is an addon that bombed hard, probably not financialy but from a player interest this is an sinkhole.

I Seems pretty delusional to call the recent state “good”

Nothing significant will change if gamers keep throwing money at companies for subpar products. It undermines the principles of our economy when people or corporations can become super rich for failure. The idea that you buy a product before you know what it has to get a flashy cosmetic is absurd, and yet people line up to do it.

The game feels like it has gone backward. It is very boring overall. Few builds are viable. I believe the real reason people clamor for the super high-level gear is because it is the only way to play the endgame content. The actual problem is the lack of balance. You can’t play what you want. You feel forced to play the meta builds with the uber or high GA gear in order to progress. And most of the grinding for these items is mind numbing.

I’d rather they do small releases with meaningful changes than these overhauls that prove the developers haven’t learned from their mistakes.

Believe it or not, but there are players that will only beat the campaign and then dip. A lot of those same players probably came back because it’s a new expansion. They beat the new campaign and then went back to whatever game they’re playing, waiting for the next expansion.
