D4 is D3, not D2

Given the rise of… “things”… like these ones…

… and people dropping likes at them like it weren’t blatant easy to prove lies, lets post it again:

  • D4 events, cursed chests = D3 events and cursed chests. Same “kill X waves”, same “escort X guy”, etc.
  • D4 Tree of whispers = D3 bounties.
  • D4 Nightmare dungeons = D3 GRifts.
  • D4 Glyphs = D3 Legendary gems.
  • D4 Jeweler NPC for upgrading gems = D3 Jeweler NPC for upgrading gems.
  • D4 Occultist NPC for rerolling 1 item affix = D3 Mystic NPC for rerolling 1 item affix.
  • D4 Legendary powers = D3 legendary powers.
  • The compilation of those: D4 Codex of power = D3 Kanai’s cube.
  • All uniques streamlined to standard 4 rolls + legendary power + [implicit roll] (slot depending) as an evolution of D3’s Loot2.0’s “4/2”. Oh, yeah, all but Razorplate.
  • Item numbers scaling with level like D3.
  • Latter item tiers always making previous item tiers obsolete like D3. No chance of some low level items being useful, they’ll always be replaced.
  • “+ to X defensive skill on helm” “+ to Y spender skill on gloves”, “+ to Z utility skill on pants”, …
  • D4 item caches = D3 item caches.
  • D4 mob level scaling = D3 mob level scaling.
  • D4 cooldowns = D3 cooldowns.
  • D4 generators + spenders = D3 generators + spenders.
  • D4 town portal without item and castbar = D3 town portal without item and castbar.
  • D4 items dropping already identified = D3 items dropping already identified.
  • D4 6-skill bar = D3 6-skill bar.
  • D4 Boring optional secondary quests with standard “gold+items” rewards = D3 Boring optional secondary quests with standard “gold+items” rewards.
  • D4 inventory with same-sized items = D3 inventory with same-sized items.
  • D4 item icon (shape, colored background) = D3 item icon (shape, colored background).
  • D4 salvaging, crafting, veiled crystals, etc = D3 salvaging, crafting, veiled crystals, etc.
  • D4 no stat requirements for equipping gear = D3 no stat requirements for equipping gear.

Not judging if those features are cool or not or should be present in D4 or not (that’s another story), just stating in which game it’s mostly based.

Denying that D4 was built over D3 and pretending it’s D2.5 is a very disrespectful act aimed at spread confusion and misinformation. Only has visuals and a skill tree. In return, D4 has the most core features: combat, itemization and endgame modes coming from D3.

No matter how many times you repeat a lie, it keeps being a lie.

EDIT: adding some more:

  • D4 smartloot = D3 smartloot.
  • D4 health globes = D3 health globes.
  • D4 whites and blues are just salvageable trash = D3 whites and blues (and yellows) are just salvageable trash.
  • D4 CDR affix, CHC+CHC (even both together in rings) = D3 CDR affix, CHC+CHC (even both together in rings)
  • D4 damaged tied to your weapon’s DPS even for caster = D3 damaged tied to your weapon’s DPS even for caster

And similarities with D2, cause someone thinks that going from something like a 25-2 to a 30-4 completely changes the sign of the comparison:

  • D4 Druid = D2 Druid.
  • D4 “+ to skills” = D2 “+ to skills”.

The only thing D4 has in common with D2 is the gothic dark style. It’s all visuals and of course the lame ‘memberberries’ attempt at shoehorning Andariel and Duriel in the story + randomly inserting meshif. That’s it.

If you look at the actual game mechanics it’s very similar to D3 and that’s why the game is garbage. Itemisation, skill tree (just skill runes from D3 put into a ‘tree’), combat system with builder and spender - even the end game system. I don’t see anything D2 about this game at all.

I feel like the combat speed is more akin to D2 than D3. You can go relatively fast in D4 but not D3 levels where you just zoom around the map and 1 shot the entire screen simultaneously. Maybe a mix of the two, not quite as slow as D2 but not as fast as D3

If you played d3 with the AH you do see ALOT of similarities to d3. From the art style to the lack of endgame rewards to the spending more time staring at garbage yellow rolls.
But they trying to make it more like d3 and make it easier. Most do not want easier they just want REWARD for the difficulty.

Yup. It’s D3 in D2 clothing.

You are repeating lies yourself, dude! :joy:

As i replied to another of your exact same wall of text in another thread;

Portals in D3 have cast bars.
Legendaries in D3 have to be identified. Just to name few of yours blatant lies…

Also games move forward. But sure, of all these things you mentioned just go back to D2 and do all of those endgame posibilities like uuummm 1000 Baal runs and and and…? :joy:

That’s the problem, the game didn’t move forward it just copied D3 systems and changed the art style back to a more darker tone.

I see facts, not lies. Diablo 4 copied a lot of things from D3 and only a handful from D2.

I’ve played both D2 and D3, D4 feels more like D2 imo. And I don’t like it.

d4 have nothing to do with d2 only the graphic style . all the stats itemlization skill animation core game play . is diablo 3 … diablo 4 is the same of a old car with a fresh coat of paint =d3 2.0 . everything look nice from the outside but the time you drive inside oh boy this is d3

Classes are thematically closer to D2. But most other things D3.

The Mystic was a friend, helping me with my gear.

The occultist is a predatory loan shark who gets you hooked once and then pops the price up tenfold lol

Yep it is D3 everywhere and you should be completly insane to think that this game have anything even remotly close to D2 except “dark” atmosphere(btw who even cares about this).
And i don’t think that you could build good ARPG with D3 mechanics that can last more than 15h per season. Literally impossible until they give up all these D3 mechanics.

Exactly. I know It can sound a bit confusing, but lets explain:

(Town portal without item) and (castbar). In other words:
D4 town portal with castbar and without item = D3 town portal with castbar and without item

Seriously dude, are you really saying that I’m inventing reasons AGAINST my own reasoning? Hilarious.

D2: identify anything but whites.
D3: identify anything but whites.
D3_RoS: identify only legendaries
D4: identify nothing.

Do you really think that this makes ANY point for you?

Yeah, you’ve decided to start with town portal and scrolls of identify because they were the strongest reasons.

Don’t make me laugh.

Yes, D4 is 1000% clone of D3, not even close to D2 in any way. Not even the graphics. Unlike D2, D4 and D3 don’t have a simple light radius.

D2 >>>>>>>D3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>D4

Whenever I need help falling asleep, I just fire up D2R it is the best sleep aid on the market.

well there are thousands of players who fire up D3 when they need to puke.
Hard to understand for D3 fanboy, but you’ll just have to accept it.

Now if we could just get them to take out all the end game content except for Helltides “terror zones”, add into the game a monster called Pindle and make the “end game” exp grind just the final boss fight with Lilith we would have D2R. Except you can’t just buy all your gear one week into a season on a 3rd party p2w site…yet.

Good grief, that was some sentence right there.

D4 is D4.
D3 is D3.
D2 is D2.

They are all Diablo games, but they are each different. Not sure why that would be so controversial, but there it is.

Tell me how you’re still replying to Avalon…

I have him on ignore for a reason, after years having him on ignore at D3, so unpleasant still being able to see him in other people’s replies.
