I actually agree, that right now, i find d4 smoother in this design with weapon assign.
i have to currently waste a slot if i want to use melee skills with 1h or 2h swapping, unless i am missing something. It is otherwise fine if using a bow skill for example that is not a basic, so yeh no game is perfect.
Be interesting to see how that develops.
Also , D4’s smooth level transition is missed, hopefully it succeeds so poe3 will get the royal treatment, that said, i wish it otherwise was more poe in places.
For warrior, this only happened to me with mace strike. For some reason the skill has a different slot for 1h and another slot for 2h. All other skills I happened to use, utilize 1 slot for both 1h or 2h weapons and they just auto-swap when you attack depending how you have set up your character or which weapon is out at the moment.
Thinking of it, mace strike may work this way because it’s a starter skill or something? Idk.
Classes do not have skills, i repeat… classes does not have any skills. This is not Diablo 4.
All skills are Weapon type specific, except spells which can be used with anything.
You can play a Warrior with a Quarterstaff, you will then have access to all the Quarterstaves skills as an example.
There is also weapon swap. You play a Ranger with a bow and in your second wepon set you have a mace and a shield. You can now put leap slam and jump around. The possibilities are endless.
In PoE you forget about classes and only look through Ascendancies as a guidance for what you want to play.
‘‘D4 is better than PoE2’’ How much hypocrisy in that one statement.
People have been saying when D4 was released, compared to PoE1 (PoE1 had decade worth of content’’
Well right back at ya now D4 has year and a half worth of content, fixes etc…and worst part is that they havent fixed anything. People are still complaining.
PoE2 however just started few days ago (STILL EARLY ACCESS), and they are patching things, every day even hour (if needed) and they are listening to their playerbase.
How long did you have to wait for fixes in D4?Weeks,months?
Lets be fair now and give PoE2 year and a half and then compare PoE2 versus D4 as it is now.
But so far, things dont look good for D4 in terms of comparison. Just look at quality patches PoE2 have in plans for people they actually care about, you know their playerbase within one week after release.
In D4 it took us months to get anywhere. Patches and QoL waiting time was 3-4 weeks.
Once POE2 gets a full release and starts leagues, they’ll patch with a similar frequency to D4. They also prefer fewer, larger patches.
D3 used to have 2 week PTRs so there was time for a patch before the second week of player testing. Used to catch a lot of big bugs that way. Really wish D4 took a more pragmatic approach to testing like that.
GGG has no idea what they are doing.
Its simply a mega boring game to play.
Just get stuck in a zone and spend hours to not even match the loot you need.
So, last night I checked on last epoch again - they have beefed up the content available since a year ago, they have an interesting solution with the circle of fortune and the trade guild to cater to both single and multiplayer minded gamers. At this point, I’d still prefer d4.
Then I found out they not only have offline mode, you heard me right, but also mod support. And the mod I got was a hud that allows the player to control the crafting system, the amount, quality and rarity of the drops, the blessings, the density and the xp the monsters give, the stats of the player and probably more besides. You can get a recent arpg that allows you to customize the game to your tastes whatever they might be (if you are a solo kind of player that is, mods in online would of course get you permabanned).
