D4 is better for now

I love this honestly, getting items for another class gives me incentive to try said class or build. Biggest negative I got for poe2 atm is melee classes getting punished for being hit and dropping mats on death

Stay on D4 because you can’t beat bosses and I’ll keep blasting Act 3.

I just wanted to say that after playing POE2 since early access, D4 is just better.
Cant wait for S7 and onwards.

At least you made a choice, but better is subjective. They both offer different things, for me if D4 played more like poe2 i would be happier, but other’s would not, lucky for us not all arpgs are the same.

D4 needs some serious polish though it is falling behind in that way imo. But i get the gears move slow in blizz games so it will come (bliz)soon lol

I like both games for now so yeah i look forward to S7 too.

As much as i can nerd out, and go deeper, i can sit back and just play games as entertainment and both do that. In the graphics and sounds and world building.

These are some things I don’t love about the game. I like scarce loot drops but I don’t like getting stuff from other classes. I’m not totally against it but I’d much prefer it if it was an uncommon occasion.
The other thing I don’t like is the fact that all classes can equip all types of weapons. “Hey look, I made a warrior with a staff”. Great, I guess  Having said that, it doesn’t affect the way I play the game but I find it bizarre and immersion breaking.

You and everyone else, kiddo.

I tried. Really tried to like it. Theres a good game in there, somewhere. But like you, here i am. Back home.

this is intentional, just so you know. It’s fine though to prefer locked classes and loot.

But there isn’t really that in poe, it’s open to profession dipping, and the class is just what the game starts you as as your primary profession, I am a warrior/Merc for example.

That is why, if i didn’t get crossbow drops i wouldn’t be able to do that.

I see. I can live with it just fine though. But since they have to drop everything for everyone, then it doesn’t make much sense for loot to be scarce. I think this is a game where a loot filter is a necessary feature, not a QOL thing. I don’t feel I need it atm, but I’m pretty sure they’re going to be buffing drop rates eventually and at that point it will be mandatory.

Do shops also restock after a certain time frame has passed or only on level?

My main argument to them making POE 2 more casual friendly is the removal of linking gear to use skills. This was genius. I think its fairly easy to learn the gem and support system and very difficult to master. Uncut gems help you get what you want.

I love the reservation system uses spirit and not mana but there is not much in tree to reduce this so aura stacking and such is gone.

Bosses are semi punishing right now but you can go back to old areas and grind out some gear and levels. All it takes sometimes is a better weapon.

There are still quite a few things that are very hard to figure out. I think the whole weapon switch passive thing is terrible. Just make them general passives. The time to switch isnt worth it as you have extra animation delay so nobody is casting a shock skill with wand 1 and then switching to wand 2 to cast firewall over and over. Maybe there is some use to this I dont see where u want to switch weapons to cast something but its something you hardly ever cast so a big cooldown skill??? IF this switching was instant it would would be good but that constant switch time is noticeable.

Some of the most fun I am having here which is a testament to this game is just looking at my skills and uncuts I have and testing things out and discovering nice combos.

One example is my merc I put ruthless and overpower I think they are called which increase stunning and it makes flash grenade a bigtime o crap button and so useful on bosses.

Just looking at a game trailer, I had D3 flashback, thought to myself, this is whats going to end Diablo? No damn way.

It took me hours to comprehend where to find my damage stats since there’s no damage category under the character sheet. That confused me a lot. I know now they’re under each skill but damn.

I’m playing a warrior and the way I use it is for the fast attacks I use a mace+shield, and for the slow ones I use a two hand hammer for maximum dmg output. The slow skills are already slow for warrior so the animation is almost negligible.
I think they may got inspired by D4’s arsenal system. It seems very similar to me. I do like it on warrior anyhow, but Idk about other classes.

I don’t think scarce loot was intended, it was day two of EA lol, much like the unintended god roll unique my druid got in the OW and i melted Lilith with endgame loot on launch lol.

I have said this Awhile ago, if you emphasise everything you emphasise nothing, and so showering me with loot makes loot feel like a one chord song after awhile. Getting a mythic and double or triple GA is all there is left, GA’s start to become the new leg and i have a stash full on useless stat GA items which i can’t even heirloom to alts anymore lol. so yeah.

Not sure D4 is going to win that debate, not in my view. It really was in a better spot than now, hope S7 turns it around. But will it solve that Loot fatigue? probably not, i will be happy shocked if the do one day figure it out.

For that to happen, the game needs a paradigm shift. And personally, I doubt it will ever happen. Maybe D5.

Well, with tempering in place and a choice to fix or remove materials, tied to weapon dismantle, there could be a chance, but yeah it’s possible, to improve it at the very least. Will they, who knows.

Yeah, who knows. Pretty sure they’re playing POE2 now like the rest of us, and probably waiting to see how the playerbase reacts to it. Interesting times.
