D4 Horse feedback

The mounting animation is very jerky and not at all horse-like

  • it lurches forward (what trained horse does that?)
  • often its “stuck” for a second or two before before and then it moves painfully slowly. I understand “getting up to speed” but after that burst of speed on mounting, why put the breaks on?
  • Make up your mind, either not moving on mount or keep running after mounting.

Horses should be able to jump! In places where you need to hit the space bar to jump across a gap, you shouldn’t have to dismount and then jump. Just hit space, YEEEE HAW! and over across you go, saddle, horse and all. Same with inclines that you slide (not climb) down. I can understand not being able to duck, climb, or cross a rope but jumping and sliding are things horses are known for.

Im sure they are aware of this. I think this will slowly get hotfixed over time. Low priority imo.

Horse can jump across small gaps. It’s just very inconsistent and definitely frustrating.

D4 Horses:

-Not much faster than just running with momentum boosts.

-Janky as hell.

-Difficult to maintain speed due to screen size limitations.

-Constantly get stuck on environmental outcroppings and other objects that are hard to avoid collision detection with.

Definitely needs to be better optimized.

Horses can jump if you are going fast enough. Its flaky though.

I don’t think i’ll ever get to mount it.

The horse should ALWAYS be FAST… when I want to move slowly i can walk… :joy:
Don’t need the 3 stacks of boost either… max. speed in town and outside town. we want to spare time…

Horse riding was designed and tested by console players. It works much better on a controller because of this.

On M&K, the problem is speed and acceleration are tied to the distance the mouse cursor is from your character. This limits vertical screenspace and makes it tedious to maintain direction and speed on the horse.

They should have added a scaling factor so that M&K users didn’t have to push the cursor to the limits of the screenspace.

I finally got that to happen. Being unmounted seems far more “forgiving” of where you are placed when you hit space but on a horse it seems like you have a smaller “jump spot” to jump from.

On horse make sure you have hit spacebar to speed up before you reach the jump spot. If horse is in speed mode 1 it automatically jumps over when reaching the spot, no need to press jump key on the horse.

Mounts are super clunky, they have ben since closed Beta, honestly find it easier to just walk most of the time.

I don’t see the riding mechanic getting improved any at this time.

They’ll be busy working on bugs and the new seasons.

Blizz has little love when it comes to travel convenience, I mean we’re just getting the emote for leaving a Dungeon, which I know made Blizz wince thinking of all the lost time played data.

Hey we want to give you horses to be faster. We also add barriers you cant pass every 100m get f… nerds.

D4 ís an impostor Diablo game. Lilith 1.0 has horses and is amateurish designed. The dismount flip is a brilliant marketing meme nonetheless.

Lmao. Yeah they’ve been aware since early closed beta. Along with thousands of other points of feedback. The game is virtually identical now to what it was back then. They have ignored 99% of QOL feedback from the players.

I absolutely HATE the horse riding in this game. A cooldown for speed?? Really?!! And then those damn bone obstructions which are obnoxious! Really frustrating! Fix those issues please. No cooldown on speed, and let the horse jump or break through.

I’d also like to see them reduce the mount-off ability cooldown. It feels bad to just ride into a pack of mobs and casually hop off, then start damaging them… OR wait another 5 seconds for your mount ability to be available again.

It would feel AMAZING if

  • the clunkiness, speed, and other issues mentioned above were fixed
    AND
  • gameplay transition between mount and fighting on foot was faster and smoother.

I’d love to just mount up, slam into a pack of mobs, mount up again, find another pack and mount-slam into them one after the other with no breaks, no waiting for bleeping cooldowns. It’s awkward. I often prefer to just stay on foot if I’m looking to get into lots of fights.

OH! And kill the cooldown before mounting up again if I CHOSE to dismount. Geez.

Have also the Problem when I Mount, the horse stuck many seconds…
it just stop stucking if i spinn the horse around…so on the end short distances is always faster walking, because of that bug

Not getting mentioned at all during Campfire Chat makes me doubt about that.
