“Maybe your expectations were too high.” - Rod Fergusson
You never see those who’s playing outside of Steam. WoW/StarCraft/Old Diablo players never use Steam. Add those numbers, there would be 2x to 20x more.
I suspect d4 players are a lot of kids on consoles. Everyone else has left.
Oh wow. So apparently the AAA ARPG with 30 years of legacy and billions of production value beats an 11 year old Fan project and an indie Game .
I am impressed
It doesn’t mention d2r… look it up lol.
I don’t know why people feel they have to defend this game, but here we are. It’s prob the 100th post about steam charts.
D4 fanboy energy about to switch up when the new Poe season launches here in a week. The same metrics they bragged about a month ago will not to be trusted as they scurry into their “wE dOn’T kNoW tHe aCtuAl nUmBeRs” hole in the ground.
In fact, it still aged very well.
You need to think about the numbers, not only throw them.
The numbers of Diablo on Steam are growing.
And even if you don’t like the “we don’t know the numbers” the fact remains.
We don’t know the numbers. And the number of sales of Diablo outside Steam must be in an order of magnitude that goes way beyond.
PoE is at their lowest numbers since 2016.
Alarming. Truly alarming.
And Path of Exile is the most complete game of the genre in the market right now.
So we all should root that they go well.
Last Epoch is pulling some bad numbers for someone who just got out of a launch.
And this number will delve in weeks.
Expect them dropping to 2000 players.
I’m not being a fanboy.
Those are facts.
Everyone who knows me here, already knows that i’m a heavy critic of some aspects of Diablo IV.
But I also don’t like missinformation or blind hate.
Those other 2 are like Wal Mart versions of D4 the gap should be a lot greater. Come on Blizzard. Leave these low budget clones in the dust!
The goal should be to make a 10/10 game. Let’s go Blizzard! Make it 10/10!
And look at the percentage of the number of purchased to the number of remaining players.
Even though I prefer D 4 over any other kind of similar Game, I do believe it’s best to enjoy more then 1 kind of game at least.
After all, you play all of what you can for D 4, then play the other games until a new season/content starts then you switch back over.
You are literally getting the best of both worlds.
Can I remind you that PoE has a standalone platform and the numbers on steam reflect practicly nothing ? Also Necropolis league was dead anyway…Compare the numbers like next week or 2 weeks from now, and you will see how your beloved D4 sit’s in the mud were it belonged from the start
What ? PoE is literally made after D2 the greatest ARPG in the history, and D4 is just a cheap copy of what is out there… Even LE in it’s misery is better than your 10/10 failure of a game.
Steam numbers, the most irrelevant and unworthy of comparison. You only see a number that represents just a fragment of D4 players. Looking at LE with 20k players not long after new cycle start, compared to launch and 1st cycle, where they had 200k+, that’s realy bad. PoE numbers will go up on season start but that is just how the seasonal modells work these days, high on start and maybe in the first 2 months than they fall. We will see the same with D4 season start will rise those numbers, and add a couple of tens of thousands more, from bnet, xbox and playstation. So yeah I get why D4 haters try to validate these numbers, but you guys just grasping at straws, D4 is still on top. Also S4 generated a steandy 30k+ players only on steam for almost 2 moths speakes volumes.
Same goes for D4 friend.
Not from what i see at steam charts. What growth are you talking about?
It was out of question that D4 will sell well. The more important thing however is how many people will continue to buy the addons.
It’s normal, we are waiting for PoE2. It will soon arrive so i bet a lot of people take a break for now to start fresh.
For a game of that size it sold extremely well and having 2000 concurrent players for a AA or indie game is pretty solid.
Last epoch managed to sell so well because people where disatifierd with Diablo 4.
It cannot hold those large numbers of plyers obviously it is not a game of that magnitude. But that so many people “showed interest” is alarming for D4. Yea most of em returned to D4 but they took a sneak peak.
Can you imagine how many will “sneak peek” into PoE 2 given it is free to play.
“A LOT” will put Diablo aside to look into PoE2. I got a feeling that PoE 2 will be much stronger then LE in holding it’s plyers.
So how many will return to the overpriced underperforming D4 when they have a better game at hand that is free to play.
Also streamers are best friends of D4 but as soon as PoE2 drops this will probably also change. It is a more complex game and has more to offer then “Meme” builds or “Rants” which is basicly the only content you can make out of D4 at the moment.
Lilith p0rn is going strong, you can’t say that for POE!
well 10k or 17k does it even matter?
D4 has budget probably hundred times higher than poe or le. So the question is should you really compare their online?
it is quite hard to deny that Blizzard invested hundreds of millions of dollars in development not in order to get absolutely identical ghost towns as in d3, but in order to get much higher online.
I’ll bet PoE2 will have about as many players as PoE. Why does anyone think it’s going to suddenly explode into some juggernaut game when it’s been sitting there F2P for over a decade?
Stash still kinda a problem. The trick is to pay once and stockpile ammo/resources then basically never pay for that again as you can still access what youve placed inside the extra resource/ammo containers when that time limit runs out. I think I got it free when i got some sale bundle or whatever it was and havent needed it since.
I watched the new Poe league videos,ya streamer will move on from D4. They all look pretty excited about all the changes to the new poe league.
I can’t blame them, more content and changes in one league then is humanly possible. If you like d4 play it ,no depth though.
