It’s been quite a while since I bothered to log back in to D4 and in that time, I’ve managed to play and finish D2, and D3 respectively.
After completing the final season of Diablo 3, I must say, it was SO refreshing to play a game that the Devs had actually cared making. You can practically FEEL the TLC in every inch of that game. Sure, people have cried and complained about its high fantasy story telling and cartoonish graphics… and yet, it is immeasurably superior to this latest iteration of the franchise, except maybe now for its aging graphics.
I can’t picture myself playing D4 ever again, but hot damn was I entertained playing through the classics 2 and 3 one more time.

D3 has had a tumultuous life but credit to Blizzard that they kept iterating on the game. Even after that it’s still a game I dislike greatly.
While Diablo 4 has many issues it’s in a better place than either D2 or D3 on launch (this isn’t praise).
For people angry with the game it’s best to leave it alone for 6months and then come back……a few more patches and a DLC and you just never know.

Are you trolling? D3 is for hyper casuals and noobs, get instant grafitication free set armor with 50000% damage and go roflstomp. Get rest of the pieces in a hour. Do trilions of damage next day. Done next game.
You must be kidding D3 is worst Diablo game on planet.

D3 was absolutely awful on launch. It is a testament to how patches and an expansion can completely turn a game around. Glad you see that and are likely to be more willing to exercise patience with D4 (while probably needing a break from its current state)

Sadly, at launch D3 was considerably better than D4 is now. It’ll take a miracle and a LOT of development to fix this mess. For the sake of the franchise, I hope it can be turned around some day.

I completely disagree. D3 at launch was an absolute mess. D4 is just a mess. There are levels.

I’m sure Diablo 5 will convince you that Diablo 4 was a master-piece. Gamers have the memory of gold-fish it’s always ‘arg hate the new thing, man the old thing was so much better’
Getting so tiresome

I actually think that D4s issues in generally can be patched fairly quickly. The bones of the game are decent and pumping a few QoL features, content and a boat load of balance patches will do wonders.
6-12 months the game will be in good shape IMO. Annoying for sure….but Blizzard don’t usually give up.

I enjoy it. I like plowing through hordes of monsters, that’s basically why I play games like that.

OP comparing a multiple years of dev/update/balances game vs a 1 month game, no sense

Why? Some games are good and fun from day 1. That used to be the norm in gaming back when there were no such thing as content updates and patches.

How was d3 at the beginning huh?

It was pretty awful, I remember it well.
D2 wasn’t one of those games and it’s widely regarded as the GOAT of the ARPG genre.
It wasn’t until LoD where they fixed half of the issues with the game it became what it is now renowned for.
I agree though, it would be nice for games to just be ready on launch.

True, it wasn’t one of those games.
Not at all. In fact, ever since Adventure Mode was introduced to the game, it’s been a LOT less fun to play. Loot showers and zero challenge isn’t my idea of improvement. I was there at launch, I remember how badly that went.

D3 past ROS was actually the best Diablo game ever made.Mainly because d1-2 heavily outdated.

Same. D3’s combat was far more fun.

D3 sucks, is the most shallow and hollow cartoon of a game.
Only played it because d2 graphics looked like old crap.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree.
