D4 feedback/ideas!

Ok so I joined this forum to discuss experiences, and feedback for D4. But so many threads are complaining about huge parts of the game or players whining, I’m kinda sick of it now and would love to discuss the game with like minded players and who knows, maybe blizzard will see this and implement changes or just see positive feedback?

Personally I loved the beta and slam and I’m hyped for launch. Two improvements I’d love to see though:

  1. Treasure goblin - defeated it several times but it didn’t give particularly good loot… I think the loot should be a bit better. It could be better items, or less items but TONS of gold, or maybe valuable crafting materials? Anything but getting a lot of blue items from these is kinda disappointing.

  2. Gems - can these get their own inventory slot? Would be nice if they weren’t in the main inventory.

Any other constructive ideas or things people liked about the game during beta/server slam? Would love this to be a positive thread! And any awesome ideas I might add to the OP to increase the chance blizzard will see.

Happens when the betas roll around. Was actually relatively calm around here before that. It’ll happen again at launch too. I’d suggest joining the reddit discord if you want discussion and avoiding the forums for the next couple weeks.

Blizzard acknowledged the loot goobers isnt giving good loot, so i expect that one to be fixed.

I encountered several gobs during the preorder-beta weekend and each one gave me a leg. But that probably had far more to do with the overbloated leg drop rate than the gob itself.

Only saw 1 gob in the slam, gave me 2 blues and a couple piles of gold…

Do you know if it was an intentional oversight? Maybe they didn’t want to give away what kind of loot the goblin would drop. Maybe they’ll drop higher end crafting mats that were not meant to be accessible during the beta. So it’s possible they just dumbed down the drop rates on goblins for the sake of the betas? Just spitballin’

You mean the reddit or discord? Or what’s a reddit discord?

I may have to consider it yea…

I would disregard that comment. You’re absolutely welcome to express your thoughts and ideas here on the forums.

All my issues with the game have been addressed, thanks for your offer though. Only THE Blizzard satisfy me not you.

Discord server for the Diablo reddit sub.

Basically an extension of that sewer. Avoid it like the plague, toxic beyond description.

  • Add buttons for potions other than health beside the one we have
  • Add an inventory sort option (sell value|stat gain|quality) and (ascending|descrending)
  • Add an auto-pickup option with settable thresholds (gear|gems|other) and a quality rating
  • Add a complimentary discard option to clear inventory of lowest value items if full.
  • Add a second spec so we can swap between them as needed (single vs multi for example)
  • Gain cosmetic on acquire so we can toss unwanted items immediately.

Agreed, in a constructive manner. And not to complain about the entire product, that’s silly. I’m not referring to people with a negative opinion to clarify, that’s fine. I’m referring to people who come to the forum complaining about the entire game because it isn’t PoE. That’s not what this forum is for.

Im not a game dev so my suggestions probably ruin the game for others so i leave the game design to the dev. However, what i miss is good skill system, something with depth to make levelup and gameplay engaging for example poe or even Morrowind, a good skill system is what gives me the itch to come back and play these games even they are over 10 or 20 years old games.
On the otherhand if i know blizz correct i dont think they will do this since a skill system with depth can be complicated to newbies to arpg genre and not appealing to the masses.

maybe, or maybe they just didn’t tune it properly. Dunno, but apparently it has been acknowledged which i didn’t realise so should be fixed!

I believe devs have said both of these will be addressed at launch. Though it’s possible the gem tab will be after launch.

Just use the skill points you have to make a build that does both. You don’t need more skill points with a free second spec.

I think getting the transmog on salvage is a good mechanism to teach players the game by helping them choose between salvaging and selling early on so they don’t neglect one or the other. There aren’t that many transmogs, so you really can just wait until you would be salvaging one naturally rather than feel like you’re losing something by discarding one.

I love the auto-pickup option personally  I think the cosmetics worked like this in D3 too? That would be nice so you have the option to sell the item if you need gold but also want the cosmetic. The inventory sort also sounds nice!

The spec I don’t think will happen as they want gold to be paid for respeccing, which personally I don’t mind.

They already said goblins loot would be fixed. Idk about gem tab but it’s only an annoyance early game. Ill never say no to any qol improvements however

My only issue with the game is that it’s not out yet.

Coming from the guy who critiqued my sarcastic thread earlier despite the fact that I’ve only made 4 so far and only 1 has been sarcastic. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

You do not have to be a game dev to have an opinion on how a game should be made. You are a consumer you have every right to voice your opinion as you see fit. In fact, game devs prefer you tell them what you want.

I see your point, but i rarely give feedback to game developers, unless i have too. In this case i think i dont have to give them my feedback. I also strongly encourage game developers to not listen to the feedback given by players, streamers, fanboys etc because in most cases those feedback only make the game worse cuz what works for me may not works for others and ppl tends to give feedback based on what works for them and their playstyle only.
