Gear solutions to problems that players haven’t even experienced yet out all over the web
This was a disaster. Giving the game to reviewers who casually play the game and give a synopsis of overall gameplay and environment is one thing.
Giving the game to a ton of people who’s job it is to break the game, solve all problems, and tell all the players the “correct way to play” is just terrible.
The mystery of jumping in with all your fellow diablo-heads and figuring it out as we go. Creating discussion on forums on best ways to maximize damage/survivability. Just everything that gives us a community to solve the game together has been eliminated before the game even comes out.
I’m avoiding watching all this crap, but it definitely takes the wind out of your sales knowing PVP zones, world bosses, will be destroyed by the people that do watch these videos while most players just sit around waiting for the loot to drop.
Really a terrible decision by Blizzard imo.
EDIT: Just so you know. It is what it is and the cat’s out the bag. It’s cool. I’m not mad, sad, or boycotting anything. This is more criticism to ensure they don’t leak too much re: upcoming seasons. At least give everyone the same starting point during Seasonal play to foster better competition.
I said even in my post… nobody is forced to watch it. I’m not… but in a shared world where there is shared content (PVP/Worldbosses) it is just annoying.
I mean great… we get to go to world bosses after 5 days and leech loot. Yay.
Just like the early access, I think it’s good. Developers can plan patch updates based on the feedback and make sure the Official Launch is great for those of us not willing to pay extra to test the game for them further than betas.
If this was single player experience with leaderboards only it would be different. It’s whatever now. It’s out and there so not a whole lot I can do about it. But it does diminish some of the shine and wonder this game would have had on release.
While i can see the “problem” with having all that content everywhere (cant even open youtube without seeing a ton of recommended endgame stuff videos) i have to disagree with the world boss one. Anyone can learn a boss mechanics in 2 mins since there’s only 4-5 different attacks.
Ashava only have that, 2 spins, 1 poison breath, an instankill bite and that elbow movement that kills instantly as well. Nothing more. Fast and easy to learn, and i expect the same for the other bosses.
I don’t care what other people are doing or saying, both in and out of the game. I’m not watching any videos so as not to have things spoiled for me.
I will be treating other players in game like NPCs or just ignoring them in general. The wonder and excitement of experiencing things for the first time will still be there for me, personally.
I am just jealous at the money they will make because fo 10 days of early access. They will throw out guides with no skip ads and now they are getting paid to play the game early. so jealous.
What a bad take. Self-inflicted? It’s not I’m out here even seeking anything out. If you even follow Diablo on twitter there is tons of things just coming out. Asking players to black out the whole internet or it’s “your problem” is unrealistic.
I haven’t opened any video except seeing that GR100 was cleared. How is a players showcasing they beat the hardest content in the game because they got early access fun for anyone?
It’s cool I’m not trying to even really argue here. Just hopefully putting my 2 cents in for Season 1. That whatever content is released is not shared with anyone so we can at least walk into the game together and figure it out.
It’s intangible, but there is negative cloud I formulate around games when “how to beat the game” guides come out before the game itself even releases. Would be different if were a couple of weeks in and these creators did this.
that barb video, pretty much screw every barb and their end game build. crybaby and streamer will simply attack blizzard for the balancing issue, and watch day 1 patch or before season ww barb will get axed
