D4 Combat Keypress Issue! Any advice?

I am having a terrible time with Diablo IV missing my keypresses. This is definitely not a keyboard problem (My laptop will do it also), and it doesn’t happen in any other application or game! (including WOW).

I don’t remember when it exactly starting happening, But it has been happening for a while on D4

For example, on my Necro I have “Blood Mist” set to the “2” key. Sometimes I literally have to hit the key 3-4 times for it to “take” and cast the spell. The Blood Mist ability on the ability bar will flash like its being pushed, but it dos not cast!

Nothing like hitting the key in a big encounter, then looking down and seeing that it’s never been cast.

I have this problem on ALL of my combat keys, but not when I use the mouse!

I searched for common complaints, and I did find some from around a year ago…but nothing more recent.

Anyone else seeing this problem?
Any suggestions would help!

It’s happening to everyone since the release. Blizz doesn’t seem to care about it.

Not for me.

hmm, sadly i dont really have an idea what could cause this for you… do you happen to be laggy?

It’s not due to lag, i think. Some skills are more prone to this than others. Blood howl is one of those that regularly don’t go off on the first button press.
If I had to guess it’s something to do with animation priority / override.

now i can only talk for necro so far, i dont notice any kind of delays. did you fiddle with the key settings eventually?

or is there some additional keyboard software at play that might be worth disabling to have a try?

Agreed. It’s more noticeable when you’re trying to spam an ability after having just used another one, as you said a global internal cooldown for certain skills.

Sadly @MaxCarnage there is no fix, you just learn to work around it.

No lag at all.
Its not the PC or the keyboard as other games work just fine.

The curious part is when the corresponding key is hit…the ability will flash like the button was pushed, but will not cast :frowning:
