absolutly true, D3 RoS was a disaster, game turned into a cookie clicker without any loot hunt and D3 RoS never became good. Trash tier game, which has absolutly nothing with ARPG.

Now that is real nonsense.
I would dare say that the game did not have an item hunting experience before the expansion. Too random and scarce to be considered hunting.
(Unless you consider getting gold and buying the item you want as a hunt. I could see that.)

No Iâm saying those that used the AH in vanilla would reach the end sooner and have nothing else to do. When you pay off the loot hunt when itâs supposed to be rare and thereâs nothing left to do with it.
They could have added rifts without neutering the gameplay.

Thatâs fair. Midgame was scaled down quite a bit with RoS
A hunt doesnât have to be long⌠or short. It has to be a huntâŚ
You donât go hunting for the first thing you find⌠you go out to hunt something specific.
In D2 you farmed specific Bosses for specific items. There was nothing like this in D3. (Farm Boss â Item)
As I say, the AH could be the most similar to this⌠(Farm gold â Item). But itâs too indirect in my opinion. It is much more similar to crafting than hunting (Farm material â item)
Keep in mind that in vanilla, rares were often bis items. Blue weapon also. So quite different than hunting for specific iconic items like a Shako or SoJ. I actually preferred that randomness and actually liked it better than loot 2.0.

Because as far as I remember, at the end of 2013 they were not rare with a lvl 60 character.
I liked the idea of ââfarming bosses in D2, but I didnât like getting items for other classes. Since I only played offline, I had no way to take advantage of them.
In Diablo 3 it was a big Meh to find things for other classes, mainly because I only played one class. With loot 2.0 I felt much more satisfied (again, because I only played one class).
I understand that some want to get items for other classes⌠but that also indicates that they clearly want to reduce their play time with that other class. (If you really want to play less with that class, why do you want to play it in the first place?)
Unless my memory is failing me, it was because you wanted rares with main stat and many uniques didnât have that. That was maybe poor rpg elements compared to D2 and D1 though.

Right my memory is off perhaps. Legendaries? IIRC the yellows had main stat and reds not always did. One strike against D3 was focus on main stat compared with D2 and D1.

Maybe. The truth is I donât like either system. But itâs not something that makes me quit the game.
Having to take a stat you donât want just to equip the item you want has always seemed too restrictive to me. (D2)
At the same time, having to take a stat you donât like just because it gives you something you like also bothers me. (D3)
Dexterity (on d3) at the time gave you dodge, and I hated it (I played DH⌠I love the class⌠I miss her 
).
(In other words, if a stat has âdouble valueâ then thereâs a good chance I wonât like it.)
But this is going too far off topic.
D2 vanilla V/S D4 vanilla or D2LoD V/S D4VoH, I think itâs more fair.
All Iâll say is that decades after first playing it I still watch IloveMFâs 1000 cow runs loot drop videos on youtube. Am I going to watch a Diablo 4 loot drop video, absolutly not, and thatâs the problem with D4 in a nutshell.

Yeah, even Baal Runs to level is less agony than grinding materials for 140 Duriel Runs with 0 Ubers or even upgrades. I literally just did my 140th run and not even a decent upgrade. RNG is one thing but something is broken here.

Unforunately, diablo 3 is not a good game, neither was ROS. ROS did not fix anything, it was just as bad as the original and should be used as an example of what blizzard should not be doing. Sadly, it appears theyâre continuing to go down the road of more diablo 3, free gear, easy content and a game a monkey could play itâs so simple. Itâs hard to say whether the majority like/dislike it, maybe on the forums youâre the majority, but typically people who enjoy a game are dominant on itâs forums, so that may not be indicative of their audience as a whole. Thereâs a reason google reviews are ~2, and steam reviews are only recently being positive (likely to change to negative with this expansion imo).

Rubbish. D3 became a thing of great beauty. Awesome, satisfying, game loop. Great party finding tools focused on whatever it was you were chasing next. Mostly great community in SC but truly fantastic one in HC.

I think, if you really enjoy Diablo 2, you might as well be interested in PoE imo, but whatever. I think Diablo 4 is amazing.

Youâre right, it is my opinion, along with others I have talked to, and i am sure many others agree as well, considering how dead of a game d3 became, and fast. So people may have different opinions, thatâs totally natural, whether Iâm âright/wrongâ will depend on your opinion/stance on the matter. But again, you provide literally 0 facts as well, youâre stating your opinion, and thats respectable. Personally I donât like diablo 3, d2 was superior in every way for me.
@Brogar, I do play poe! Its my favourite ARPG atm, just waiting on a new season. Poe2 looks amazing with the new gameplay trailer they showed, cant wait!

What activities? Literally all you did in d3 was spam greater rifts 95% of the time, 4% of the time you did regular rifts and 1% bounties, gtfo with content. D2 has better progress, the acts are better id argue its community is better. Youâre just hard coping with that
