Why is Blizzard still using Twitter as the main communication tool for players to learn about outages in their games? With Elon Musk turning Twitter into 4Chan light, I don’t want to be exposed, even for 30 seconds, to that cess pool of racists, misogynists, and medical morons. Can’t you find an alternate platform?
They could, but then that would require a tiny bit of effort.
I agree 100%.
The Battle.net login screen did show me this; “We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue.”
Yep, just changed… earlier it just said, “we’re seeing reports of…” and yesterday it was, “Check @blizzardcs on twitter for updates…”
You just now don’t want to use twitter? Because Elon took over? Twitter has been a cesspool from the start. Terrible form of official communication when it was full of hate from the left, terrible form of communication now that it’s full of hate from the right…
Bliz forum had cancer for the last 15 years at least , they are just waiting for them to die.
They grow too big and the workforce required to moderate it it’s too expensive and not worth the investment .
They moved to twitter and let someone else deal whit the problem .
The funny thing is that they already have another platform. You know, the one they’ve had for over 20 years. This one. Battle.net. Which they do use, to be fair, but it is strange that they use Twitter instead for the ‘real-time’ updates.
I don’t want to use twitter because it isn’t a platform I use at all anymore and refuse to install it on my phone or visit the web interface. Like if they actually used 4Chan as their primary communication platform… wouldn’t use it then either… or if they used pinterest… or facebook… or my samsung smart fridge…
They have battlenet… and it should be the primary method of communicating with their players rather than push their notifications to a poorly managed 3rd party app…
You don’t like 4chan?
because Blizzard / Activision is a company that was bought to start brain washing the masses, and Twitter is the site they all use.
Oh so Twitter was fine before ? lol I guess it was with 2/3 of the people you disagree with being banned from it right ?
It’s not.
It’s actually pretty common for companies to have alternate communication channels in the event their main one is suffering an outage.
Nope… was never ok… thanks for playing champ!
I deleted all social media except facebook which I basically use as a birthday/event calendar now and my life dramatically improved. I recommend it to everyone.
Same, only I kept instagram… who doesn’t like to scroll through puppies and meal recipes?
Why can’t we use our phones for important info like this? Just send us an SMS once the issues are resolved.
