Curious to know what motivates ppl to grind to p300?

Honestly i am very curious what motivates ppl to keep on grinding after a certain point. Personally xp gets very slow past p250 and i stopped at p275. Feels just not worth it, due to:

  1. very boring gameloop, no challenge
  2. only way to get decent xp is from pits, doing the same over and over is boring
  3. havent found any meaningfull upgrades gearwise since p180
  4. i have maxed out all my glyphs ages ago
  5. collected all citadel stuff
  6. all loot that drops is pure garbage, no aspect upgrades either
  7. gambling with obols feels utterly pointless as is opening boxes from bartening.
  8. the mount and trphy from p300 is nothing special either, will get it automatically after a few seaons.

so yeah, ia m curious. I am not saying make the grind easier, but at the very least add more meaningfull content.

The game has been out a year, and we still dont have enganging end-content.
the entire progression within the game stops pretty early on, so why bother continue playing?

I wanted the mount, so I got to p300. It was just a challenge to me, unless there’s another reward next season I probably won’t do it again

Wow you made it to 275.

I am at 253…doubt I will ever see 260. I am playing Druid and Barb.

I will finish Paragon 300 in Hardcore just for the achievement. It is my final thing to do before 100% now.
After that I will never do it again.
It really doesnt add much power at all past 270 or so depending on the build.
And 270 is only like 30% of the exp so much more reasonable.

switched to barb at p250 as its my fav classes, however the damage output compared to SB this season is terrible.

you dont even need to it this season, if you get to 250 a few seasons long that will add up in eternal and you will reach p300 like that … So there really is no reason to suffer any longer

compete in what way though? doing pit 150 is pretty easy on SB, nothing beyond that and there is no ladder

I hear there is a cosmetic for doing so.
I may never though at the current time investment.
On a gameplay factor it would only matter if you wanted to compete in the Pit.

Absolutely nothing. Especially when I will get it after after a few seasons of just playing. Maybe if I could play some alts that weren’t completely underpowered, or didn’t rely on some silly clunky mechanic I might have naturally hit it this season.

at 250 each season, it would take 7 seasons to hit 300 in eternal.

I got to 289. It’s just pit after pit after pit. I tried to break the monotony by doing a few hordes, nightmare dungeons etc. But it’s always the same trash drops.

I was bored for over a week before I finally snapped out of it and stopped logging in.

There is deff quite a lot of people competing on the third party ladder…

Prob go over as well as the gantlet did.

Many more people care about Pit pushing than the gauntlet.
Third party is fine, but would be better with an in game LB.

On Playstation there’s a trophy for getting to Paragon 300 and it’s the only one that I’m missing from 100% completion.

I didnt „grind” to 300. I just played the game, how I wanted, with whatever class and build I wanted and I had fun. Level 300 was just an indirect result of experimenting and having fun.

If you have a mindset focused of „I need to reach 300”, then you’re wasting your time. Cuz you wont have fun and you’ll end up frustrated complaining on forums.

You see that is not an option - I hate Hardcore. The last thing I want is to play Hardcore for like 4 seasons in a row. So doing it all in one season is the only way to go. Now for Softcore I would agree with you.

Some people get 300 because everyone feels it too much and won’t do it, so they will. Why climb mount everest? Some just want the soulstone reward.

I finally gave up at 280. Way too long a grind to 300. Not happening and I m playing the fastest build in the game on the most op character in the game with gear so op I can close my eyes and beat the game (evade SB) so not much hope for me ever get 300 in a season. 100 tier pits in 90s and I cant do it. Yikes. Have to rely on the eternal paragon thing to get 300.

Addiction.
there is small minority which has problem with that.
That`s why mobile microtransactions works perfect.

Some people sometimes has no real life - this is another social case.

Nothing at all. A good fun class would make me want to play but there aren’t any.
