Got bored of the Paragon grind and switched over to S5 necro, now on eternal realm. Decided to look for some new gear after clearing pit 35 with legacy stuff, and surprised to find I can’t find minion attack speed anywhere in the temper menu. Based on google search sounds like it was removed.
How exactly are we supposed to max out the Cult Leader ledendary node without the minion attack speed temper? Description says 40% dmg for every 20% attack speed bonus, up to 100% attack speed, that should be 200% dmg bonus. Only item I’m aware of with minion attack speed AT ALL is Mendeln’s with a max of 12.5%, plus a few paragon nodes that add up to 17.5%, for a max of 30%. Where is the other 70% to come from now?
Also why does this node not show the current bonus like virtually ever legendary node of this type? Is it going to be in upcoming patch?
Attack speed ga o. Ring = 20+%
Mendeln = 20+%
Eh, whatever that aspect is = 40+%
Minions nodes = more
It’s there, you just have to look for it. It’s pretty easy to hit the 100% cap.
Even varyana can help if you are in a pinch.
Hmm, I’m starting to understand that maybe minion attack speed INCLUDES my own attack speed, and that they are added together to reach 100%. Still like to know what that “whatever” aspect is.
Actually I think you mean reanimation
Yeah, that one. I also forgot kalans is 36% when you have all 12 minions out as well.
Frenzied Dead. If we are talking about minion attack speed aspect. Reanimation is just damage.
- 33 % minion attack speed from Kalan’s Edict without Golem, 36 % with Golem.
- 17.5 % minion attack speed from Cult Leader Board.
- 12.5 % attack speed from Frailty Board.
- Ring of Mendeln up to 18.1 % minion attack speed without GA, 24.4 % with GA. The 3 procs should be on the Mastery passives. The legendary power needs to be maxed, so don’t look for special GAs.
- Up to 14.5 % attack speed / 19.5 % attack speed with GA on gloves, rings, amulet.
Some attack speed from legendary aspects.
You should be playing Kalan’s Edict, that is 33 % / 36 %.
30% from your Paragon boards is 63 % / 66 % combined.
18 % from Ring of Mendeln, that is 81 % / 84 % combined.
So you are missing 1 x attack speed on gloves or your second ring.
GA would be nice, that way you don’t need to proc while Mastercrafting.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I’m still unclear on how Cult Leader works.
I notice there is a place on the in-game stat sheet specifically for “Minion attack speed BONUS.” This is currently at about 30% from Mendeln’s plus the few paragon nodes available on the Deadraiser board. This stat does not change during play and so does not reflect any bonus from Frenzied Dead.
What would be the reason to believe that the Cult Leader node is based off minion attack speed, including boosts from Frenzied Dead, rather than simply based off of this statistic as shown on the character sheet?
Main reason I’m asking is that if I simply go the paragon board and deactivate the Cult Leader rune there is no noticeable difference in minion damage.
Kalan edict passive dont show in stats sheet, this not means isnt working.
To check if you already reach 100% ias to cap cult leader, just add your total ias and minion ias with kalan edict.
If you use aspect with +2 skellys and golem, you should have 36% (42% if aspect on amulet).
You dont even need to use frenzied dead aspect to reach, its pretty easy to cap just with raw stats on gear, paragon and passive key.
Something important to note is that the Frenzied Dead Aspect is the only attack speed modifier for minions that goes towards the cap 2. Kalan’s Edict, Paragon nodes, Mendeln, Merc buff (Varyana) all go towards cap 1. So if you get over 100% IAS without using Frenzied Dead, then you’re only getting the benefit of 100%. This is fine for the cult leader node which caps at 100% but you also want to remember that Frenzied Dead will further increase your minions attacks to proc Mendeln faster/more often.
