First off, long time Diablo player here and I’ve loved all the mainstream games for what they are. I’m a gamer who games 5+ hours daily and The Diablo franchise is one of the top 3 franchises I’ve sunk the majority of my gaming hours. Congratulations on the great launch and a terrific game.
The biggest problem I’m having with d4 is enemy crowd control moves. This is an issue with multiplayer but only becomes fun breaking when going solo and it has some easy fixes. The enemies use too many 100% cc moves. When you encounter 6+ elites (or sometimes just the right mix of normal enemies), you can become cc locked til death. Sometimes you get that half a second to decide whether to throw out a dodge, or a potion, or an attack to try to get out of it but more often than not you get stuck in unending cc. The reduced duration on items is futile unless you have 4 or 5 items giving you up to 50% reduced- and even then I’d wager you still get locked as I’m being hit with cc moves while cc’d quite often. I have 2 suggested fixes.
- Have a cc invulnerability for 2 seconds after being hit by cc- either per status type or altogether.
- Add a status immunity node on each paragon board between the legendary and glyph that gives immunity to one condition- ie fire nodes could give frozen immunity and high speed modes could give slow immunity. This would at least cut the number of ccs that could disable you entirely and make some elites easier than others and also grant some specializations when in a party.
Not sure how much of a problem this is for others. I hope the suggestion is seen and taken into consideration. Good luck with future updates- I’ve liked what I’ve seen coming before s1 and hope y’all keep it up.
