Crossplay enabled on unchecked crossplay option

If you uncheck the crossplay options in the social menu of the game settings and start the game, the chat will display the message:

You have cross network play enabled, and may encounter players on other platforms

I noticed this as well. I turned off crossplay but left the chat options available because I have some friends on console that will msg me.

Not sure if that is the reason why it still says cross play is enabled or not though.

I have disabled both and still get the message upon login. However I’ve noticed the game is way less laggy with the option unchecked, so I’m hopeful it’s doing something

Any suggestions for solutions @Blizzard?
There are two of us, both have IMMENSE latency problems (the game is absolutely unplayable with latencies around 1200-2000 and lags of up to more than ten seconds, after which your character is dead in most cases), crossplay can apparently not be deactivated. Anyway, the chat still shows that crossplay is enabled after unchecking both boxes in settings. Any config that could possibly be edited manually?
Both of us have been playing since pre-release (including both betas and the server slam!), during which time the game ran smoothly for the most part.
Then came the official release and your first patches. It feels like it’s getting worse every day.

Confirming I am also getting this incorrect message.
