Cross network play will NOT disable!

Pretty straight forward. When unclick box for cross network play - looks good. Save and exit settings. Go back and it’s enabled again. Box is clicked. I can click cross network communication off and it stays off but when I click cross network play off it always auto turns back on when I exit menu and go back in to see if it’s still off.

I don’t think you can turn it off during the beta.

Are you on Xbox? If so that’s probably why. You can on PlayStation because that’s a requirement Sony has to allow the games to be crossplay for their platform.

He isnt talking about allowing, but rather disabling. Read the topic and post one more time my friend

i am on PS5 and can verify it wont turn off.

same with subtitles

Edit - Patrick Rothfuss is just as bad as GRRM when it comes to actually you know… publishing a gd book.

PS players can’t disable it.
Xbox players can’t enable it.

What? You don’t have a bunch of people running around on your game in Xbox? I am just now hearing this

Hehe I just replied to myself

You misunderstood what I said or I worded it poorly.

Xbox forces crossplay enabled with Pc.

Sony requires the option to disable it.

It will most likely be this way on release.

But neither work is what you are saying? Like for XBOX users you cant play with PC users?

I’m not sure because I waited too long to try the beta on my series x and the download was gone when I tried. But on launch Xbox and pc will be crossplay and more than likely you won’t have the option to disable, but PlayStation users should be able to.

I can confirm for the PS4; the option will not disable. I’ve tried it many times.

I guess Blizzard is more interested in testing out the online capabilities than the offline ones. Online needs a lot of work.

but why would you want to turn it off? i guess you’re going to say pvp but that seems like such a small part of diablo and i dont think it’ll be that bad really. even fps games these days are pretty good at balancing the cross play between control schemes.

I think some people want to turn it off to avoid the lag and rubber banding that has been happening. Another reason would be to get the offline experience that is usually expected with Diablo; some players want to continue to experience Diablo on a solo level, without any other players in their view.

Personally, I have always liked Diablo because it gave you that choice; a choice that many other MMO’s do not give you.

I hope Blizzard doesn’t make the same mistakes as Capcom did with Street Fighter 5 when they launched the game without the story mode.

OP said “cross network play” so i dont think they mean offline mode… they just dont want to mix with pc if im understanding correctly.

It should be between all platforms but on Xbox crossplay options are there but you can’t enable them. That was case in ea open beta and open beta.

Havent you heard? Choice, bad! Blizzard wants you to play the game their way.

Hehe…

He doesnt know wtf he is talking about. You can absolutely turn it off by going into settings/online safety&family/privacy&online safety/xbox privacy/view details&customize/communication&multiplayer and then under you can join cross-network play and switch it to block. That disables all crossplay in all games. Its built into the console.

As far as in game the same thing happened to BF 2042 series x/s version. The turn off cross play toggle didnt work in game and the above blocking method did. EA later patched the toggle to work on xbox.

So no xbox does not force you to play with pc players… that’s a load of BS

I didn’t have any problem with the in-game toggle I turned it on a few minutes after I got to the area with peoples, and it reduced the number of thems.

It most certainly did nothing. I am pretty sure in one of the bug forums they commented on the fact that it did nothing.

I’ll find it… grrr… even if I have to sift through hours of “My Queue Time Waaaahh Refund”

I would turn off the ability to see everyone if I could. But I can’t so I’ll have to settle with minimizing the amount of people I see.
