I do not own the expansion VoH. Using the current trial, I decided to test the Spiritborn. At about level 26-27 I did the class specific quest “The Sacret Hunt”. After I completed it, I teleported back to the city Gea Kul, opened the character menu Spirit Hall and chose the Jaguar. After that, or shortly after, the game crashed and since then I can’t launch diablo at all.
The game passes the authentication phase and starts loading, shortly after that it crashes to desktop with the following error id: CFC96DDA-D368-44B6-830D-6A4AB2103B39
I repaired the game twice and restarted it at least 5-6 times always crashing at the same time during loading.

It happened to me too. After trial cap it crashes. Now I can’t play the game.

Didn’t know there was a cap. Still, I can’t even play my other characters, since the game crashes at startup. What a disaster.
just buy the expansion already… /s
saw in another thread a lot of peeps having this problem, one reported to be able to login again after a few hours.
but damn bliz, dropping the ball yet again, fumbling left and right… what on earth is going on there? sounds like you need to hire some better coders… or pour more money into the work being done cus this is quite the horrendous bug streak you got going

I am definitely not buying the expansion now. It is way overpriced for what it offers.
We know now that the campaign is bad and after playing with the Spiritborn during this trial, I realized I was already bored just before my game crashed.
Sure it is more fun than most of the other classes, but with the current state of the game, lack of exciting endgame or class sets to chase, the underwhelming Battlepass and greedy Shop - I can’t justify spending more money (or even time) on it.
I hope this bug gets fixed though, I may return at some point in the future.
entitled to your opinion of course, but when i think back to d3 expansion i don’t remember the value being much different. and it’s only 30 bucks right now because of black friday sale, absolutely worth it in my book. but then i also don’t consider the campaign bad, i was just surprised and a bit unsatisfied by the ending.
season is lackluster and we have bugs upon bugs, but that is a different problem.
Interesting, you are the first person I hear not trashing the campaign. I am also glad you got your money’s worth and have fun.
That being said, I still feel burned by the base game and have yet to get those initial 70 Euro worth of fun.
I know most of players don’t care about skins and would disagree, but I feel the monetization strategy of D4 is silently killing the fun of the game. At least for me. I am talking about the decoupling of power level and visual representation.
Previously - the stronger you werre, the cooler and more badass you looked like. Now, everyone looks generic, unless you spend 20+ Euro for skins. In both cases, linking cool stuff with money, instead of gameplay is bad for motivation.
They do this same thing with events as well - recent example was Halloween event - the associated rewards were in the SHOP, not as part of the gameplay - and apparently no one played.
Kinda sad.
i get what you’re saying about visual representation, and overall i agree. companies are well aware by now how much more money they can make off their games than a one-time purchase price tag, and i don’t like it but i’d rather deal with this than with more exploitative, manipulative or pay-to-win models.
have to say though, imo many of the regular armor skins look really good as a full set, especially when dyed. better than a lot of the crap in the shop. sure, those are often more flamboyant let’s say, but that doesn’t mean they look good, and definitely not worth their price level of good.
side rant: blizzard if you would actually include a skin for every weapon the class can equip in your skin bundles, i would actually consider buying the ones i like. how you fail to do this and just include a random selection that never even fits the meta boggles my mind…
i haven’t bought a single platinum-bought skin pack in the store, relying on mostly on skins acquired ingame and coloring them, sometimes using battle pass skins (the few occasions when they actually fit the class/build i’m doing), and have always come up with a look i’m happy with. and speaking of battlepass, for what is essentially 300-400 plat i think they are a pretty good deal (though i didn’t play seasons 2 and 3 and yes the s6 one is the weakest i’ve seen so far).
all this being said, sorry for derailing and the off-topic replies
Edit: about the campaign, people are quick to jump on a bandwagon, especially when they are unhappy because their game isn’t doing as well as they would like in other areas. likely a lot of people that didn’t hate it, they are just not being vocal about it
