Great game, haven’t played the expansion part of the campaign yet, because I wanted to replay the original campaign before starting the new expansion.
Only one problem. Crashes. Tons of players have reported this. Blizzard even dropped a patch not 24 hours after the game dropped. To fix “stability issues”. Only to still have random crashes.
What’s worse? Well it’s not even just crashes in the expansion. I get them in the base game. It seems linked to moving faster than refresh rates can catch up (basically you move fine until you eventually get to a point you’ll freeze in place and the game will bog down like it’s lagging. Music will still be going, everything behind you will be 100% fine but everything in front of you where you’re moving to will be blurry and then the game will crash). Which means fast traveling on horses (Galloping/sprinting on your mount) can cause crashes. So I stopped using mounts. Now after getting a legendary set of boots (super low level gear) that add movement speed and evade grants movement speed, I now literally sprint too fast for the game to keep up. I’m level 19. It’s not like my movement speed is capped or anything crazy.
I just want to play the game without crashes from simply walking.
And yes, my PC is plenty strong enough to run this game. It’s never had an issue before. All my drivers are up to date. And I’ve ran a test on my internet connection and it’s the same as last season. So even with Lightning Spear builds bogging down everything, I run always between 25-50 msec. Still at 25-50 msec.
It’s just super disappointing considering the game itself is what? $50 and then you have to spend at least another $70 to get the expansion. And that’s if you didn’t get bundles/ultimate editions/etc. Just to not really be able to play the game in general. Let alone the random bugs others are reporting like glitchy names not showing up, etc. Look, I understand 100% there will be bugs with any new title. I do. I even didn’t bat an eye at the delay on the launch. It takes time to launch a game and get servers down then up, without unexpected issues coming up. But the crashes were reported from launch and they even dropped a patch to fix the supposed “stability issues” which sounds like crashes, yes?
With every new title, I expect it to be different. Good job, Blizzard. You scammed me again. Looks like I’m off to Eternal Realm from now on. No more money from season passes from me. It’s just not worth the frustration right now. I’ll play it when it’s fixed, I guess.
I’m sure this won’t make it to devs/code writers. I guess I just needed to vent.
