I know there was an issue a while back with Frame Generation causing crashes but while the issue has improved, it’s still present. I just wanted to see if there was any other workarounds or fixes for this?
My pc is an i7 12700k, 32GB of DDR5 5600Mhz, MSI Geforce 4070 and a 2TB M.2 NVME drive. Drivers and Bios/Firmwares are fully updated.
When I have Frame Generation enabled, the game works for a bit but after a while, the game just locks up and crashes. If I turn it off, the game runs completely stable without issue. Any help would be appreciated.
That combined with Frame gen can also cause issues. For some, disabling Ray Tracing helps, for others disabling Frame gen. Problem with the latter is you take a hit to the FPS.
Try capping your FPS to 60 or 100. Setting a lower limit like that also helps the system. Plus the game will play a bit smoother.
My thought was, if you did, disable that and see if it helps. But the FPS cap can help too. I run a 12900k, 4080 Super FE, and a 1440p monitor that can do 165hz. But I have the game capped to 100FPS and everything set to max with the exception of one setting in RT. Its set to low, but particles and tree effects are enabled.
To date, haven’t been having any issues. And that’s with DLSS @ DLAA and Frame Gen enabled.
