Crashes, Data Problems, not enough GPU VRAM

Hi everybody,

do you guys also get/got these problems?

i have an i9
32gb
and a 4090 …
(for me it looks like a memory leak)

I have a 4090, and Diablo tripped my breaker twice in the past 2 hours… Not even cyberpunk does that.

I’m crashing every other teleport. Over 10 times crashed now since the update. Everything up to date, running a 5950x 64gb ram and 4090. No reason this should be happening. It only happens on this game. I can play everything else for hours without issue.

Also 4090 and also getting memory crashes. Never happened before with any other game, or with any other season of D4.

Make sure your textures are not set to the highest.
It was a problem at launch that got me again on the PTR.

Check your driver. If your on the newest try a roll back?

i will try that. Thanks

Same here. I never experienced crashes with Diablo IV until this new update. What the hell, Blizzard!? FIX THE DAMN BUGS ALREADY! TEST THE GAME BEFORE MAKING IT LIVE! This is so damn messed up! Four (4) damn crashes in less than 30 minutes!! Unreal! - JJ -

Update: I posted in the bug report after disabling the Nvidia Graphic setting, the game is working fine now. Again, I never experienced any crashes in the game since it launched last year until this new update. However, it is now addressed and all good. I’m actually enjoying D4 Season 4. - Cheers! - JJ -

3060 on the laptop, no crashes and runs like a dream

Didn’t need to update drivers at all. Maybe don’t buy the latest and greatest when you don’t know how to make them work properly?

There is a known issue with i9 13900k and 14900k currently having stability issues unrelated to any particular game. You should update BIOS and utilize the “Intel default baseline” profile. You can Google “Intel i9 crashing” and find quite a few articles discussing the issue, unfortunately I can’t post links here.

Due to a VR Situation, i am already on the not-newest-nvidia-driver. So … yeah… :frowning:

Btw. looks like the graphic downgrade worked.
no crashes so far.

This is potentially a Intel issue not a game issue if you are using a 14900 or 13900 i9 processor.

Correct. Motherboard manufacturers set their own defaults against Intel’s recommendations that raise power limits. In a lot of cases this causes vram errors. Check bios and set multi-core enhancements (or similar) to disabled (enforce all limits).

Edit: The really sad part is that the “performance gains” you supposedly get from the Motherboard Stock Settings are completely negligible and purely synthetic. Like, higher benchmarks in Cinebench. All they’re really doing is increasing your power usage and temps and the expense of stability.

NO, IT’S NOT A PROCESSOR ISSUE! I have high end system and graphics card for beyond average. I never experienced any crashes in the game since it came out last year in June 2023, until today after this buggy damn update! And FYI: I have no problems with any game either, other than these new random, constant crashes in D4. and Diablo Immortal has similar random crash issues, but not like this. These constant crashes are NOT normal!

Oh, and BattleNet keeps logging me out too! This NEVER happened until today, so this is definitely a BLIZZARD BUG PROBLEM AFTER THIS NEW D4 UPDATE! BIG TIME!! Also, I logged into my other Blizzard games and no problems whatsoever. This is clearly a problem with Diablo IV and the new update! Not surprised at all at this point!

And I logged in just a few days ago! No issues! However, today for the first time the game keeps crashing randomly and now as soon as I login to D4, it crashes and a pop up shows up saying: “The application encountered an unexpected error.” This is now the ninth (9th) time! I can’t even fully login and play the damn game! D4 is still a buggy, broken beta game! I paid for a broken damn game just like everyone else! It’s damn shameful of Blizzard to allow this to keep happening in the game after all the BS we experienced in the past year.

I’m just going to wait until later tonight! I’m done wasting my time on these annoying ridiculous bugs that should not be happening in the game! I hope Blizzard fixes this mess soon! Unreal! - JJ -

I’m not on intel CPU so i don’t think its that. It doesn’t matter what setting i lower it too it just keeps crashing and super stuttering all over then crashing. Never had an issue before with D4

oh thats good to know!

4070 super,32gb ram 1 crash in 3 hours. still annoying.

Same here, every time I teleport.

This is the client crash with the report window right? Can I ask, everyone who is experiencing this? Do you guys use XMP profiles?
Or Factory Overclocked GPUs?
