CPU heating issues (Fixed!)

Whats your opinion on radiator location? I’ve only had 1 build with water cooling, but I installed the 240 system on the front with push/pull and immediate exhaust above with a fan blowing out. (AIO - too chicken to do my own loops)

I’ve seen people say just install it on the top, but the coldest air will be from the front intake instead of stuff coming up from the GPU which I don’t traditionally have liquid cooled.

And since the other components generate heat, the chipsets memory etc, the air in the system is usually warmer if using the top exhaust.

I kind of feel that if i am pushing those temps, the case air temp doesn’t matter it will be cold enough and the top location is good enough. Mounting in front soemtimes is annoying depending on the case.

I’m probably going to upgrade or get a new rig this blackfriday/christmas, so in planning stages. Although, I know 4000 series is sunsetting, so might wait til next gen to come out.

A turtle chilling with Kool-Aid is all fun and games until the heat kicks in.

It could be nvidia drivers, since it seems to be occuring with Nvidia GPU’s.

I don’t know.

The issue really comes down to the number of bugs, exploits, miscalculations that persist, some of which are game breaking. From a hardware standpoint, I think they are working it out, but no one really knows what the problem is other than a “memory leak” or dump that best fixed by figuring out your VRAM and doubling it on the swap (I think). Someone has it posted in another thread.

Top is ideal, front or side mounted vertical orientation where the inlet to the radiator is above the CPU to prevent air from becoming trapped in the pump.

Your radiator fans will cool the air more than enough up top. As front, you’d be having to do a pull configuration, which then injects warmed air into your rig, increasing the component temperatures slightly. Not enough to do any damage by any means, but far from optimal. With the rad on top you could have front intakes helping to lower component temperatures. And FWIW, your internal case temp will eventually normalize. Every degree your ambient temperature rises, your case temps will rise by the exact same amount (it’s a 1:1 ratio).

I call bs the graphics card alone could run this game without heat what else is going on?
