yesterday, i played d4 via pc game pass. but i cant open it today, it shows “Diablo IV was unable to open a critical file!”. i already repaired it and reopen it, still happened.

Same problem here. Reinstalling did not help either.
Edit: After updating AMD drivers and Windows and a restart, Battle.net detected an update for D4 which would not initially run. Followed the steps below and updated D4 through Battle.net client while game pass was not running. Was able to run D4 after that.

Close down gamepass app, close down battlenet. launch battlenet separately and wait for Diablo IV to update then you should be able to launch gamepass and play through gamepass.
This solved it for me with the same error.

I close xbox app, open battlenet and an update show up (it didnt show the update in xobx app), after this a close Battlenet and open gamepass, that worked for me.

This happens sometimes, and even the update via Battle.net with everything else closed does not work but I found a solution.
What I did and worked for me was:
- Close Xbox App
- Ctrl+Shift+Esc (Task Manager)
- Force shut down of all Battle.net related processes (End task)
- Open Battle.net
- Update Diablo IV
- Start Xbox App
