Couch Coop glitches (PS5)

  1. Character screen doesn’t load both players characters, or even allow you to create the second players toons.
  2. Can’t join each other at the beginning, got to play for quite a while into the game before it pops up second player can join
  3. When player on the right, opens their inventory, you cannot see the map anymore
  4. Cannot freely roam both characters separately. It’s not split screen. So if one character ran away too far, it just pulls the other character with you. Causing them unable to pick up items.
  5. After a different map loaded, it kicked one of the player off and cannot get them back in. So if you went back to character screen, it doesn’t even allow you to load the other player anymore. Saying gotta enter before second player can join - which is false. No way to load both players in…
  6. When re-entering it was back to the very beginning…
  7. Logging off just mean re-joining the long long queue again… Sigh

Hey, thanks for sharing; were you able to actually play local coop? I wasn’t;
Do I need to complete the prologue with both chars?

My wife cant join ps5 couch coop at all shes able to press options but then it says cant verify licenses and never loads here in

Yea same here.
2nd player has battle.net account linked to psn account. When pressing the Options button on the controller to allow 2nd player to join, the choose character menu does not show. If the 2nd player logs out of ps5, we get “The Operation was canceled. (Code 300010)” message on screen.

I have logged out, logged in the player that was 2nd as 1st, waited an hour to log back in. still not allowing me to join the game as the now 2nd player. closed the app, and turned off ps5, waited another hour to log back in and still nothing.

Yep I can even get the second player to get into the game in local co-op mode.

I see the button saying press options for player two to join but nothing happens when I press it.

And this happens with one account that has PlayStation plus and another account that doesn’t so it’s just consistent across the board.

Have the game on Xbox and PC. Works fine solo on both but on xbox when I try to do couch coop, it says press start and I do that with controller 2 but it doesn’t work. All accounts tied to BN accounts. Hope they get it worked out. I have one character to level 13 and one to level 6. Going to try leveling up the 2nd one a little further seeing if that helps.

So the only time couch coop worked when it didn’t simply say ‘player 2 is connected, press whatever’. It only worked when the entire bottom right corner has a giant banner button saying ‘CREATE NOW OR JOIN’ … that was the only time we were able to get the second player in. But it doesn’t last long. It’ll eventually kick one of the player out and u have no way to bring them back in… without completely logging off and rejoining queue and hope to see that banner again … sigh . Safe to say, couch coop is like unplayable during beta ATM… just too many glitches…

I hate to say it this is going to cause a major issue for me, my wife was upset that I preordered the game for early access. Now when I tell her “gee honey it’s an hour wait to play the game and once we get in only one off can play” metinks I will be looking for a refund lol

Yeah my wife and haven’t been able to play couch co op successfully either. I created her a Battle.net account for her and the game even recognizes the 2nd controller, but when she hits the button to join, nothing happens.

What’s happening is your wife is entered into the same queue that you were in to get logged in. At some point it will prompt her to make her character…but you’ll have to wait quite a while until that happens. Hopefully they get the queuing stuff cleaned up soon!

Exact same problem here

Hello guys
I think i found the solution.
You need to finish the prologue with both characters.
And after add the player 2(from different accounts) wait until the queue finished an other time (with no clue how much time it will take) and it should work.
Worked for me after 12h of trying.
We managed to play 20min with my wife

Again…Couch co op doesn’t work

Makes no sense to have to wait in the queue for so long as player 1, then player 2 cant even join in straight away.
The whole reason for couch coop is to play together.
Finally both me and my partner got online to play after having to seperately complete the prologue one after the other.
Then had to wait around 30 minutes before player 2 would connect.
I think we got around 15 mins of gameplay before i was booted out and it wouldnt let me rejoin the game so had to restart and join the queue again.
