(Couch Co-op) Legendary Items Don’t Drop for Player 2

After some testing it is evident that legendary items do not drop for Player 2 and only drop for Player 1. It is not account bound.

I played as Player 1 for a couple of days up until level 32. I got 8 legendary drops while my partner (player 2) got 0 drops.

We then swapped so that I was Player 2. My partner almost immediately began getting legendary drops as Player 1 and is now getting more, but I have no longer been getting legendary drops since I have been Player 2.

Please fix so that we can both receive legendary items while playing together <3

Same experience on ps5. My wife was never getting them when i would launch the game, but when she launches the game, I dont get them. It seems the battle net account that launched the game gets them, even if im technically player one, and she launched the game, i wont get any etc

So i caved in and crafted a legendary, and 10 minutes later one dropped, same session, but crafting one seemed to resolve the bug for this session at least….

The same happens for us on ps4. We tried switching “host” player and but still only player 1 gets legendary

Same here, I as P2 never get any legendary, only from quests which we both get or from gambling and it’s really frustrating.

Exactly the same issue with me and my wife playing co-op on PS5. I as player 1 get around X10 legendary drop compared to player 2. Extremely frustrating.

Same here on xbox, it’s frustrating I’m level 42 and had 4 legendary items drop, my partner has had well over 15+ level 43 now - just making me think what’s the point, doesn’t matter if we switch who’s host either. Played diablo since it started and I’ve never had a character over level 40 having just 2 legendary items equipped because 2 out of the 4 are RUBBISH.

in my situation, p1 and p2 items are swapped in nightmare dungeons, and generally p2 get less legendary. There is real issue here

Is there any update on a fix for this? Its becoming a real issue. And the season approaching, this will be a big problem. How do we alert :warning: this! @filthierich who is managing this community…whats happening here?

My Xbox Diablo 4 is not gonna be worth playing or purchasing anything for if only one person in the Co-Op gets the growth in the game with the items that are needed to expand our characters.

We’re about ready to quit playing.

We’ve had the opposite issue. Couch co-op and my husband - P2 gets all the legendaries and I get none P1.

Same here. Observed it now for some time. E.g. Played yesterday with my wife. Local coop on ps5. We played around 3h. Me (P1) got 1 legendary in that time. My wife (P2) about 15. Both same level around lvl40

Not so much here. Our problem is that she (on a lightning sorc) and me (on a fire sorc) get legendaries for each other. She gets all the fire, I get all the lightning. Cant trade or swap. Extremely frustrating!!

Same happens with my wife and I. Regardless of who is player 1 or 2 she gets 5 to 10 legendary items to my 1. We open chests and she will get 2 to 3 legendary and I will get none. We are the same level.

Today, oct 23, it is still happening to some extent.
I do get legendaries but the ratio is ridiculous.
I had 3 actual legendary drops as player 1 (we are currently level 45 and doing act 3) while my partner had more than 15 throughout the game as player 2.

We even thought it was related to damage dealt to mobs because she is a DPS rogue and I am a cc/tank necro. We have tried to leave me to do all the damage to some bosses while she was running around kiting, and in the end she still got 2 legendaries and a bunch of rares while I only got some rares from that fight.

It is so blatant that my inventory doesn’t even get full while she has to do 2 round trips to town to sell/recycle

Yes! This happens to me now! I cannot belive this has yet to be addressed.

It’s exactly the same with us. My husband and I play on the same console and he always gets more and better stuff than me. I am p1 and he is p2. It’s extremely frustrating.
