Couch co-op fails for Dark Citadel

Given the release notice, my wife and I both pre-purchased Vessel of Hatred excited to play new content specifically to allow more co-op opportunities. This is bait and switch or a major bug. We can complete all the steps to access the Dark Citadel but cannot access any of the end game content.

So which is it? Bait and switch; or a major bug that couch co-op doesn’t have access to?

Release text from your website below that specifically calls out end game coop opportunities. It never states that it is not intended for couch co-op.

“The team also introduced the Dark Citadel, a new co-op PvE endgame experience that will put everything you know about combat to the test through a series of cooperative puzzles and mechanics, as well as the Kurast Undercity—an intense new multistage, time-attack dungeon that gives you the control over the challenge as well as the loot you will find! Lastly, in preparation of bringing the jungles of Nahantu to players at launch, attendees at gamescom will be some of the first to slay demons as the Spiritborn in a Vessel of Hatred™ demo.”

Absolutely agree here.

We were looking forward to do the DC, until we found we couldn’t even enter the zone as couch coop. No popup notification, nothing. So one of us logged out, and the other was able to explore.

Ten minutes later I got to the puzzle room, and couldn’t progress at all.

So here we have a couch co-op game, with a co-op specific mode, that is not only locking out couch coop players, but that goes further and requires PS+ or XBL to complete.

This is absolute horse$hit and pissed us both off so much we just stopped playing.
Whoever green lit this is an a$$
