Whenever I go to start D4 recently., I get an error of Corrupt Game Files - use Scan and Repair to fix. I try running Scan and Repair and get another error of corrupt files and to try restarting Battle.Net In the end, the only solution I have found is to uninstall and reinstall the entre game - which takes a while to do. I’ve tried every possible solution that I could find on the Web - I’ve had to do this now twice today - as I don’t sit to watch the install, and when I came back battle.net was telling me to do another update - the update seems to damage the files, but not always.
Close the game, Close Battle.net
go to %localappdata% on your computer. You can copy and paste it into any search or folder window. This will open up your account appdata/local folder.
Delete the Blizzard and or Battle.net folders that you find there.
Reboot the computer.
Start up the blizzard app. Reverify your game files.
See if that helps.
It sounds to me like there might be something on your computer that is corrupting files have your uninstalled and reinstalled Battle.net and if that doesn’t work you might have to look for a cause outside of Battle.net
I’ve already tried removing the files in %localappdata% - that didn’t seem to help. I’m reinstalling AGAIN right now - my next try will be to reinstall battle.net and see if that helps.
Started happening with me as well recently (used to play just fine), tried it with both bnet and Steam versions on two different computers and it’s literally the ONLY game having problems.
Just launched the game after following those instructions. I didn’t make it past the character select screen before the ‘data corruption’ message popped up again.
