The ‘Grim Harvest’ and ‘Fueled By Death’ passive abilities are triggered on ‘Consuming a Corpse.’ Of the Necromancer’s two Corruption/Corpse abilities, ‘Corpse Tendrils’ and ‘Corpse Explosion,’ only Corpse Explosion actually consumes the corpse, meaning Corpse Tendrils cannot trigger these passives.
These abilities are working according to the text description, but it feels like a missed opportunity (thematically and in terms of build-crafting) to limit these passives to a single skill. Corpse Tendrils not consuming a corpse is good for synergy with Corpse Explosion, but not triggering these passives is a let-down.
The trigger for Grim Harvest and Fueled By Death should be changed to ‘Casting a Corpse Skill’ or ‘Targeting a Corpse with a Skill’ or ‘Casting Corpse Explosion or Corpse Tendrils.’

The skill description of Corpse Tendrils specifically stated it will not consume the corpse and therefore will not trigger both passive. You can use CE on a CTed corpse (if i remember correctly)

Been trying to figure out wtf is going on with Corpse Tendrils and found this post -
So it seems that when Corpse Tendrils fires from the Sacrilegious Heart it DOES proc Fueled by Death. I don’t think it’s procing Grim Harvest though.
Corpse Tendrils also seems to be consuming the corpse now.
Would be great if we could get some clarity on how these things are supposed to interact.
Meanwhile I’m going to swap out CT for CE and see if one or both of these passives proc when CE is triggered from the heart.
Disagree 100%, it should not. There’s already CE, Raise Skeleton and Bone Storm. Tendrils already has a very good bonus from Grasping and a vulnerable upgrade. It doesn’t need to be made stronger.
Tendrils doesn’t consume the corpse & so I do not think it should trigger either Grim Harvest or Fueled by Death.
Sacrilegious Heart triggers a corpse skill but does not on it’s own consume a corpse. There are corpse skills that consumes corpses, however, and those are automatically triggered…
I agree with everything you said here so I assume we’re dealing with layers of bugs. For me, Sacrilegious is triggering Corpse Tendrils (which makes sense) but it is both absolutely triggering Fueled by Death and consuming the corpse, neither of which I would expect.
Think of the Heart as 1 button all rolled into one. Raise Skeleton, Corpse Tendril, Corpse Explosion and it’s pressing all of those at the same time. Imagine if you saw this in a combat log, you’d see a whole block of text line by line saying [Insert Player] activated [Insert Skill]. I think in this case, Corpse Tendrils activated first and it doesn’t consume a corpse, but yet it pressed all those other buttons and those skills do trigger Fueled by Death.
I haven’t had any issue or difficulty simply popping the couple I just used CT on with CE immediately afterwards to gain the buffs…I think this is working as intended and even if it wasn’t there eis a long list of Necro issues that are much more concerning that should be addressed first. I think adding the auto curse/auto corpse consuming hearts to eternal (in SOME form not necessarily as hearts) would be a decent start.
