Corpse Explosion damage

Always underperforming, it’s finally time to buff corpse explosion damage.

I typically run an “Infinimist” CE build seasonally, because I really like the playstyle of damage over time and crowd control. This season, I was able to acquire literal ‘perfect’ 4 GA Howl from Below and Black River uniques. They are nice to have, but the fact remains that corpse explosion is just underperforming. Especially on single targets/Bosses where you can’t get as many corpses to explode.
Some suggestions I have to help:

  1. Remove the 2,000 INT cap on Wither
  2. Allow Frailty to ramp up MUCH higher than 40%
  3. Add or update a paragon node that gives a direct damage increase to Corpse Explosion or shadow damage over time
  4. Update an existing legendary aspect that directly increases Corpse Explosion damage based on total Intelligence - similar to how the Barbarian’s Executioner’s Aspect offers a 15%[ x ] damage to Earthquake for every 100 Strength you have.
  5. Simply buff Corpse Explosion base skill damage, or on related uniques, by a LOT.

CE is still doing penance for being too strong in D2

It’s a bummer that corpse explosion didn’t receive any love as of the latest PTR/Patch Notes… I’m always paying attention and hopeful that they will revive this build to at least be ‘somewhat’ competitive.

As it stands, all corpse explosion related aspects and uniques are really just useless salvage. I just don’t understand why there is so much neglect for obviously underperforming playstyles.

Throw us a bone here!

CE is one of the strangest skills in the game when it comes to support. Two dedicated uniques, which is 2 more than many other skills get, but virtually no other support after that.

The only real skill tag it has is Corpse, which almost never gets recognized. The curses, which aren’t designed to be spammed for damage, got a damage focused key passive before CE did. For a skill as popular as CE, that’s a real head scratcher.
