Corpse Bows;Probably the cheapest death I've ever experienced

Nothing feels as cheap to me as getting off screened by these things.

It feels like repeated deaths at the hands of these creatures is the game being really unfair to the player when they are readily off-screen with their 1-shot attack ready to release then they shoot it at you the moment you get their pixels visible by your character. I can know they are coming and the only way to contend with them is to blow defensive cooldowns so I can get in range, this is exacerbated by the fact they can slowly creep into a nasty position down a hallway or corridor unaware to you.

Either please reduce the speed of the projectile so we can react to it, or reduce the shoot range of these things so we have a fair chance at avoiding the 1-shot potential of them in the end game.

When you first get them into view for the first time, they begin to wind up their attacks, which is fair, they are a support/high damage unit for the skeleton/undead factions.

What my biggest gripe is you can clear an area and not even know the Corpse Bow was part of the group you killed because it spawned somewhere in a corner, you move to the next area, and then backtrack to another part of the dungeon, only to be quickly killed and a revive wasted because you didn’t expect them to have moved as far as they did, and you have almost no time to react once they shoot their projectile because its ready to shoot at you the moment you come into view.

They are fine to deal with, when you are moving around normally in combat as avoiding their projectile is easy at that point.

I disagree. These are fun enemies that add a challenge. I actually remember being in discord talking about how cool these enemies were with my group.

If you are getting 1 shot by them you likely have not itemized correctly or need to find more damage reduction from distant in your paragon tree.

one shot from a screen away is “challenge” now lmao.

again, if these are 1 shotting you, you are doing it wrong. good luck on Echo Lilith or against anyone decent in PvP.

If I wanted to PVP I would be roll necro. Good times.

thank you for the irrelevant comment that has nothing to do with this post

Corpse Bows are monster checks that determine if you have enough life or DR for a big sucker punch. A death result means no.

Just as a heads-up to you or anyone reading. That’d literally be the worst class right now to roll to PvP with.

these guys cant get passed the corpse bow. I’m pretty sure anything they say is going to be noobish and wrong.

At NM dungeon level 50, a lot of things have 1-shot potential.

I solo NM Tier 65 and do not get 1 shot by corpse bows. On Rogue

It is so much to the point where if you die to a necro in a one on one even fight of near levels or even if you’re higher than the Necro, along with you initiating the fight against a Necro, you should be forced to wear an irremovable dunce cap.

TLDR: you pick a 1on1 fight with a necro of near or you’re higher level then them and lose = long CD dunce cap.

A challenge is actually having an opportunity to defend yourself.

If someone walked up behind you and clocked the back of your head, was it a challenge for them, or did they sucker punch you?

The challenge could be itemizing your gear correctly to still have DMG but not get 1 shot no? Terrible analogy man… sorry

What itemization are you talking about? There is no Vit stat in the game, only +% life which you do not get very much + hp%/life regardless. I have fairly end level game equipment at level 80, the most I could do is replace my source with a shield, which might add another 500 life or keep grinding out paragon levels for more armor or life%.

It’s not a terrible analogy at all. Neither one of you saw it coming.

If mobs couldn’t shoot you from offscreen, there wouldn’t even be this discussion.
