Imagine trying to have a constructive discussion of gamers with different playing styles and varying amounts of time they can play, arguing over what is good and bad, who is professional or a nubie. All over a game that at the end of the day is a game that leads to only one result. SPENDING MORE MONEY…
Forget I have my first character of the season tanked, which I consider an expansion of tanked tempering items… Blizzard now introduces “tanked characters”. A character that yes can still be played but cannot EVER progress on the story line… Kind like tempering tanks, you can still use the weapon just too bad the tempering roll needed isn’t for your build, so build another one.
Reality is no one wants constructive discussion and this in my opinion includes Blizzard.
People just want to vent, yourself included. They don’t want to be told their opinions are wrong about a game they paid money for, whether they love it or hate it. However each side will fight to the death to get their point across. At the end of the day we all just want a better game, a better experience. When you start to add in varying opinions, that’s where things go off the rails.
The other issue is asking for compensation in the form of developers being fired, or worse. As if that would solve any of the problems currently that people are having. I mean if you want to see the game shut down completely, I guess it would solve that problem for you, otherwise it wouldn’t help anything.
The forum itself is just a hodgepodge of people with varying opinions and ideas about the game. For the most part though I would say most of us just want the game to improve. Not all of us mind you, some are just lonely and seeking attention. They no longer play the game, they play the forums. To each their own though. Stay thirsty my friends.

I use code myself. So if you type
It makes a space, as if you hit the spacebar twice, and takes up 6 characters. I usually add it to the end of short replies. There’s other codes you can use, that’s just the one I’m most familiar with.

You’re wrong on my wanting to vent. I want to constructively discuss… Second opinions are opinions and never right or wrong… But combined opinions improve everyone’s experience.
I can discuss with people who are genuine and who dont have ill intent… actually pretty frequently… i got like a 6th sense to certain things which makes things a little difficult
Well your first post definitely comes off as venting more so then constructive criticism, that’s all I’m saying. What you intended it to be may be a little skewed in the eyes of the public.
I would just add a small caveat that they ‘may’ improve. We all have our own ideas of how to change the game, but devs don’t look for ideas they look for feedback on current systems, what do you like/dislike and why questions. They don’t look for ideas on this forum but rather get an idea of preferences and then try to implement that in their own way.
Blizzard has done this for all of their games. Tempering is a good example of this. People asked for more control over their loot, Blizzard implemented Tempering. Now regardless if you like, tolerate, or hate the system, they have done very little to tweak it since it was initially implemented, regardless of all the ideas on these forums. Same can be said for various other systems.
I’ve given my two cents for just about every system there is in the game, I’ve yet to see a change anywhere close to my ideas, but I have enjoyed a good majority of changes done to the game so far, even if they don’t line up exactly. Not that the game doesn’t still need work, it absolutely does, just that certain things don’t bug me as much as some.

Clearly my intent didn’t get out like intended. Venting about lack of constructive discussion on the forums, guilty… Venting about tanking the first character at level 31 in an expansion, guilty…
Discussion of systems, is lacking greatly other than claiming the game is great one the one complaining is horrible; pretty much nonexistent.

Agreed, the posts of civil discussion and decent back and forth are few and far between. I’ve always tried to stay neutral and offer differing opinions about any given subject, whether you love or hate the game. I try to get people to look at the other side, and add objectivity where possible.
Some see it as white knighting, black knighting, or anything in between. I just want people to think more so then react to something, that’s all my goal has ever been. Now I do follow the golden rule, so you may see me trolling people that are obviously trolling themselves, but for anyone willing to have a civil conversation with me, regardless of differing opinions, I’m all for it.
Character is SB, I was playing the quest line, completed one of them moving through. When I completed it, the next should have been Undercity: The Specter of Travincal. The marker is over Spirit Brazier and the quest should have moved to Undercity: The Spirit of the Promise.
It was in a party with my wife sitting across the room. Her’s went to The Spirit of the Promise and mine is at the Spirit Brazier asking me to complete the quest I already did.
Tanked character. Cannot move forward on the quest line at all. Tried fixing game files, playing higher tiers, trying different things and the quest remains how it is. Reported the bug in the bug forum where it will die until it is noticed and they figure it out.

Ah yea that’s a bad beat. If I found myself in that situation I’d feel real bad for my wife bc she’d be out a character.
Maby if the forum wasnt full of wow players people would be nice to eachother…maby even at the very least have a sense of humor
idk any constructive discussion about this game is in the past already.
It is clear enough to everyone that D4 went D3 paths with sort of MMO implementation.
It was D3 from the beginning tbh and now we have MMO style adjustments.

In my honest opinion i played game since launch i saw the little things that people who cared about the game saw start to get weird… like before the blessing the helltide chest gave us a few items… they turned that into a blessing you earn from BP… thats the only example i can give because there are 100’s of actuall bad things this company has made that are similiar to that statement about the HT blessing and thats a very minor one i just dont feel like getting into it if you dont already know what the hell im talking about… the game is the first game i actually felt like the companys who made it were activly trying to be a gremlin towards me. So no i think the games done because the company has very ill intent towards player base
That tends to be why people put many hours on D4 then say is this crap serious right now? EVERYBODY sees it eventually and only the wow/mmo players ignore it
