I keep getting crashes and i have Ryzen 5 7600x, RTX 2070 and 32gb RAM.
Also i noticed that Diablo 4 seems to claim almost all of my 32gb of RAM!? No idea why.

No I do not have the expac and after certain patches it went back to crashing for me. I did notice they reset my video options a lot so sometimes it was them turning DLSS and Ray Tracing back on for me. Other times it was just tweaking more on my end to fix it, as in the patch itself just introduced more Fenris power. I have been able to get it back to stable almost every time though, but I donât expect everyone to be able to do that nor should they need to.
Just switched from an i9-9900 system to a new AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - only component I switched: AMD RX 7800 XT. Still crashing.
Either the game is crappy progrqammed - resource consumption (LatencyMon says problem with audio load?!?) ?
BTW, only happening sind Vessel of Hatred.
It has been almost 2 years now, the game still keeps crashing. How long until you people fix this. I have paid well over 600 bucks for this game and your overpriced cosmetics. Not to mention the platinum I have purchased for my girlfriend who also plays this unfinished faulty game. It is SUPER frusterating that this is STILL an issue. Fix your f-ing game already. This is ridiculous!!!
I was playing in the helltide. That is what i was doing before your game crashed!!

Totally unplayable constant computer crashes trying to even get past 5 min.
Kind of a necrothread, but meh. Since yesterdayâs patch, the Fenris error now trigger a D3D error/dialog box. It was told, by this dialog box, that I should update my Nvidia drivers (which were from Dec 4-5, 2024, but I told myself âWhy not? Doesnât hurt to try.â), so I did. Wasnât the issue at all, obviously.
Still crashing every hour to hour and a half, unless I exit the game earlier to prevent the game from crashing. I did not have that issue before Season 7. In fact, my game never crashed before VoH, but only did crash a few times during Season 6.
Not a potato PC per se (5800x/RTX 3090/32GB RAM, so obviously not current gen, but probably better than 90% of what players usually have). Yes, playing on a NVMe. Yes, bios is updated. Drivers updated (including display drivers). ISP isnât the issue, or it would crash at any given time, not only after an hour or so. Yes, reinstalled the game.
Everything points out to memory leak/memory usage as it clearly appears over time, in my case.
FYI, was following up the lead of Windows 24H2 update being the issue. (-> check Reddit).
Reinstalled Windows but using 23H2 and preventing update to 24H2 and no crashes so far. Sometimes I thought it was close to crashing but recovered every time.
At this point I see it to be a coincidence of Season 6/VoH repeatedly crashing as to roughly when 24H2 was released.
Used a tool called LegancyMon to track and it supposedly is due - to audio resource usage choking processing⌠Current hypothesisâŚ
Most stable Nvidia driver for RTX and D4 (no 5000 series) 560.70.
Its a weird crash too. i think there is a way around it. For me it only happens when i am teleporting to a town. Itâs like the loading of a town.
My screen turns black. I can see my health and mana globes which are empty.
I hear sounds. But the screen is black. I canât exit the game and reload. I have to close out of D$ completely then long back in thru battlenet. Some odd stuff. Someone said it had something to do with Audio drivers. Not sure. But this has been an issue since I got D4 way back when. Nothing new for me. I have a gaming PC and D4 runs perfectly with no issues outside of a random crash. and by random i mean some days it wonât crash and some days it might crash mult times during the day. Wonder if there are other factors. If itâs a real bug I would assume it would be more consistant. But nope!
Game Ready Driver 561.09 works stable for my RTX 2070S + i7 9700K, i dont try 560.70 though.
With 572.16 latest Nvidia Driver, D4 crashes every 1-1,5 hours on my PC.
I had to reinstall my gaming pc and while I was at it, I used Windows 23H2 build. (Current is 24H2).
Windows 23H2 - NOT A SINGLE CRASH SO FAR!!!
There are times where D4 would normally bug out but on 23H2 seems to recover while on 24H2 D4 would just die.
I still crash even after building a new pc. Iâve ran cpu, gpu, and memory stress tests and no instability. Blizzard games used to be rock solid. Atleast for me.
Sometimes the game starts chugging and when i check Task Manager all 48gb of my ram is being used. Other times the game just abruptly closes to the crash window where you can tell Bliz what you were doing.

Diablo IV has run out of memory - PC General Discussion - Diablo IV Forums
changing the pagefile may help with this for you.
For me it was not only Out of memory error. I had all kind of errors: Fenris, hard crash, black screen, corrupted files, all appeared randomly, whatever I did, every hour or so in the beginning, then more and more often, til it crashed every few minutes (or even seconds) whatever I did.
The last Nvdia patch fixed this for me. Now it crashes very seldom (last week it crashed 3 times).
To stop the crashes:
Some people on this and Steam forum tested the game and seem to think that some players keep receiving corrupted data from servers, also there is some huge dump of data sometimes which gives us the errors.
For me deleting the file is very effective.
lmao i mentioned that the game crashed too often b4 too but some annoying blizzard fans be simping and deny such problems exist with the game

To stop the crashes, i updated to latest 572.16 Nvidia Driver, and enabled AMD FSR 1.0 , instead DLSS, on my RTX 2070 Super VCard.
With Nvidia DLSS enabled, and with 572.16 latest Nvidia Game Ready Driver, D4 crashes every 1-1.5 hours on my PC.
With 561.09 Driver, D4 worked stable on my PC, even with DLSS enabled.
With AMD FSR 1.0 enabled, and 572.16 latest Driver, D4 works fine for me, more stable, than with DLSS enabled.
Same exact with me in Tn with EPB fiber and RTX 3070. Diablo needs to back up and punt. I used to play all the time. smh
Iâm having the same problem too. It starts up, and then gets to about 10 seconds in and the narrators voice comes on and says about 4 word and then my computer locks up and i have to turn it off manually.
I havenât been able to play in a month or so and was looking forward to it, but itâs happened about 10 tries now. I donât feel comfortable constantly having to hard boot my computer so I quit trying.
Still going on even after Nvidiaâs recent update?
After the driver update, the game was crashing only once every several hours for me.
Unfortunately, the last Blizz patch has made the game unstable once again. Or so it seems to be, because yesterday it crashed for me 3-4 times in 2 hours.
