My game contently crashes. Doesn’t matter what I’m doing its happened in town and in dungeons. This just started today.
Same problem for me. Especially when interacting with vendors. It wasn’t an issue a few days ago. So something broke it.
Same, it all started today, and i noticed that when item tooltips doesnt want to load, then this crash/freeze happens too.
This is started happening after the last update for you all, try these steps to see if they help and let me know:
Exit Diablo IV and Battlenet. Rename your LocalPrefs file for the game. It can be found in Documents\Diablo IV. This will reset the game to defaults the next time you load up.
You will then be prompted to setup brightness and basic config. Then once you are at the character selection menu, make the following changes to the graphics before loading a game:
- Set your FPS cap to no higher than 120, but start at 60FPS for now.
- Turn of Nvidia Reflex.
- Set graphics to High for now.
- Set Scaling to 100% (it should be here by default)
Then load your game and see if anything changes.
fixed 60fps, reflex is off, graphics was already on high, scaling at default, still crashing and freezing just before loading screens, temps are normal, fan speeds at normal
Apparently they dropped a new driver for Nvidia today:

still freezing with the new driver just before loading screens, this is not a client side issue, there was NO problem yesterday, and even like 3 hours ago, i think this is a connection issue with the server, overloaded or something
Yeah, me too.
I was actually a bit worried because I played this morning and everything was fine and suddenly whenever a new zone is loading, the game freezes (sometimes it loads eventually). This is 100% not a problem with my PC since I’ve been playing without any problems for the last few days.
Same problem here, started today. Mostly at vendors and sometimes when creating a game where I am standing in town. I am playing from EU, local ISP (glass fibre); I also tried T-Online VDSL. No VPN.
Same, it’s desperate
Im pretty sure its not on our side, everything was fine 3-4 hours ago, and suddenly it went to s**t
I have been having many crash issues with Diablo 4 over the past few days let’s me play a few minutes then crashes and freezes to Home Screen I’m on Xbox one s console it’s really annoying for 74.00 $ like I can’t even play disappointing tried loading game uninstalled it many times reinstalled it now it won’t even load without going back to Home Screen
Ok, can some of you that started having these issues today do a few internet tests:
Go to these links do this one first:
This one you do while running the game, so if you can’t launch it, that’s fine. Which is why I suggested the first one.
This should give us some info into your connection data. Maybe there is a problem there. We have had many threads about connection problems.
I’m trying to get as many of these ran as I can to see if there is any common threads to the problems with connectivity.
Thanks for the idea but this will 100% be an issue on Blizzard’s part and should be resolved soon … the servers will be on maintenance this night so let’s see what happens after that.
The last person to tell me that had issues with their Bell ISP. Just saying.
None of those links works, brings up “something went wrong on our end”
Those links are good. Just tested them myself. Try a different browser?
I have restarted my internet many times it still crashes on Xbox one even reset my Xbox one back to factory settings redownload all games again and Diablo 4 is still crashing loads and crashes back to home
Being that you are on Xbox, I have little to offer to help on that for you. Not a console techy…
All I can suggest is using the tests I linked above from the PC you are on and see if you find anything.
Understood. I know its affecting consoles too. ![]()
I’m just letting you know the issues with Xbox also
