Consider making the VoH campaign skippable day one

No. You it’s better if we have to complete it just once and actually see the content we paid for.

How about let players have a choice. they can always do the campaign later. You can play the campaign if you want and some players can opt to skip it. Players skipping campaign day 1 doesn’t affect you playing the campaign.

I agree with the OP. I want to skip campaign from day 1… the way I consume ARPGs is to jump straight into the season and level with friends and explore the world.

One of the many painful things POE makes you do is play through the campaign over and over and over.

To stay within the bounds of your metaphor “paying to see a movie”… Imagine paying to see a movie but being told instead of screening the movie they are going to screen the disney+ show before the movie (which you cant skip)… all I want to do is watch a movie, I don’t want to have to sit through a whole series.

I would of preferred no big grandiose campaign, with smaller scale seasonal story bites… think of how wow campaigns. To me its just a waste of effort/dev time making campaigns… focus on replayable content not one off spectacle stuff.

Blizzard was always good with lore. I would gladly do a slow lore run when VoH comes out, no matter I am one of the fastest hc levelers and content destroyers out there. I need to know what’s going on, why am I running around chasing demons, why I have to kill this and that, bring this object from here to there. It gives you a sense of fulfillment… :upside_down_face:

It is funny that people will purchase a game that has a campaign but they do not want to play the campaign. Purchase a game that has seasons but they do not want to play seasons. Purchase a game the is a loot grind but the do not want to grind because they want to get loot from an AH.

I’m curious if you will be able to skip the original campaign and only do the new part. Or will you have to do the whole thing again to be able to skip?

Not that it’s a huge deal either way.

You will not need to run the base game campaign you can jump right into the VoH.
The VoH will have some type of recap of what took place in the main game story.

Do you currently still need to do campaign to unlock mounts?

I still haven’t started HC because there is no way I am running around collecting all the altars.

What Lore in D4 would be missed? :unamused: After all it’s not there’s much in a play through of D4 that wouldn’t put you to sleep

Nothing funny about it casual. I play call of duty and don’t touch the campaigns at all but play multiplayer matches only there. D4 campaign was pretty terrible and I expect VoH will as well and most definitely not why I’m purchasing the expansion.

What's Funny is that people like YOU Can't MYOB!!!
                                                                                                                🤦 😒

As someone who enjoys the story campaign, I actually agree with this. After practically forcing the campaign on everyone when the original game launched, even barring seasonal content behind it, they backed off pretty quickly, and I think only the prologue is required now. I was disappointed to learn at least one core feature of VoH (mercenaries) is baked into the campaign again.

My brother-in-law and I used to have good times playing seasons in D3. He didn’t get into it until RoS came out with Adventure mode. We played D4 together one time, but he never got into it. I asked him why that was later, and he said he didn’t like feeling forced to do the story.

Some people are like that. They just want to dive into a game on their own terms. They’re not here to play through some half-baked movie.

I think I agree with most that playing through the campaign once to unlock the option to skip it is not a big ask – but it’s still an ask. Imagine being locked out of playing StarCraft multiplayer back in the day because you hadn’t done the solo campaign.

As an aside, it annoys me that every new seasonal NPC responds to your character as the fabled “wanderer” from the events of the campaign. You’re quite literally playing a different character every season. You’re not that dude. You weren’t born in a cave. You’re just BuffBarb69, and you’re here to blast.

NO., Everybody should do the expansion campaign once. Its fair.
Anything different of this is lazy and stupid.

So not excited for mercenaries. seems to me like a precursor for content that requires a group and this is the workaround for people who don’t want to group. I hope i’m wrong but I don’t think I am. if i wanted to play a party instead of a character id go play bardstale or dragonage

They already said several times that you cannot use a mercenary instead of another player in co-op.

who said anything about co-op? im talking about new endgame dungeons that appear to be suggested as group activities

You just said the same thing two different ways. One of the dungeons you must run with 1 - 3 other PLAYERS.

oic how disappointing

Edit: sorry I interpreted co-op in the original Diablo sense where you are doing local network with a host to allow multiple people to play together. I think this is still a thing for console. ?

Just dont lose your time buying it… simple like that u gonna have to do the history of every exp. they come with every time (for only one champ and u done for every season). if its too much still, simple dont buy, dont play, dont cry…
