Eventually a dev sees this. Obviously there is some material deletion going on.
In theory, that is a good thing, and im glad you are trying to take action against duped materials. However, apparently something doesnt seem to work right as it appears legit mats get removed as well, which is understandably extremely upsetting to legit players affected.
While im personally enjoying the game and have a lot of positive things to say about diablo 4, i must also note that this pretty much is a worst case emergency scenario.
So before you try to push out the gauntlets at all costs, you really should get this situation settled, especially cause the support ticket GMs cant really help those people.
Mistakes happen and players are willing to forgive. It does need some form of response on your part tho.

I do agree that this is a high priority issue which needs to be addressed. Blizzard can’t be silent here while people will become more desperate and angry with every purging they are doing.
In the last deletion process I lost a couple of hundred materials such as bloods, fears, steels. Along with that 300 igneous cores disappeared idk where they are now.
I will not farm again until there is any statement to what has happened and to what their strategy with materials is going forward.

Blizzard should just delay the Gauntlet because it won’t be enough to salvage the season anyways. Just go all in on S4.

Screw the delay, stop acting like a million dollar prize was at risk. Its a solo video game mostly, they will pull it out after lunar event im pretty sure.
Wouldn’t have an issue with it being delayed until S4, but mostly because the gauntlet itself wouldn’t really apply to me. Oh I’ll try it when it comes out, but there’s zero chance I’ll ever be competitive on the LB’s. I just want to see what it’s like really. I get the feeling they won’t delay it, but instead it will be released closer to the release of LE. Blizzard has a habit of doing this with their games, and waiting for a launch when another game is having more content come out, or launching, etc.
