Hello everyone,
I have pihole set as my DNS in my router (This has been set up like this for a while now), my girlfriend took a break from playing for a few months, she updated Diablo 4 on 7/14/24, and is not able to connect to the Diablo 4 battle(dot)net servers from the xbox, the code that is sent is (Code 397006), from what I have read it’s on my end.
What I tried to do on 7/15/24:
I can access battlenet from my laptop browser, and the desktop program, I don’t have Diablo 4 for pc to see if it’s specifically Diablo that is having the issue.
*Steps taken:
-updated Diablo 4, couldn’t connect to servers
-Uninstalled, reinstalled
-Power cycled the xbox
-Load the game still get (code 397006)
-Updated Pihole
-Restarted router
-Checked Pihole block list under xbox the only thing I found on the block list at(dot)atwola(dot)com, aka-cdn(dot)adtechus(dot)com, api(dot)amplitude(dot)com
-I disabled blocking for 5 minutes, got (code 1016)
*Did all of this with the help of my gf while I was at work
What I did on 7/16/24
Tried the steps from yesterday and couldn’t replicate to get (code 1016).
No other game is affected by this on the xbox.
Checked Pihole blocklist still couldn’t find anything regarding battlenet or Blizzard
Added on domain whitelist on Pihole for:
-battle(dot)net
-blizzard(dot)com
-bnet2(dot)battle(dot)net
-d3battlenet(dot)blizzard(dot)com
Downloaded Diablo 4 on another xbox and the same (code 397006) occurs, tried changing the dns on the xbox to another dns, no change.
Have checked the router firewall for blocked ports, the routers setting is selected “typical” for my firewall.
Are as follows:
Allow (LAN-To-WAN):All

bittorrent - (TCP port 6881-6999)
gnutella- (TCP/UDP port 6346)
vuze - (TCP port 49152-65534)
On 2nd Xbox (box xboxes are wired):
-test network speed and statistics:
-download speed 298 Mbps
-upload speed 27 Mbps
-packet loss 0%
-MTU 1480
-latency 32 ms
NAT type is moderate
Detailed NAT type info:

I do have PiVPN but the ONLY thing that connects to it is my phone to check network stuff at home or remote into my computer.
Nothing else on the network is routed through PiVPN at all.
